campCARE CHILDREN’S FOUNDATION has been empowering and uplifting struggling youngsters through high-profile mentorship since 1997. Recognized as a premier action sports non-profit, and a pioneer in the snowboard world, campCARE helps high-risk youth find the necessary inspiration to make positive changes and build character.

campCARE’s premier learn-to-snowboard camps benefit troubled teens, ages 12-17, who’ve endured violence, drug and alcohol abuse, racism, neglect and maltreatment. These children are selected from various youth serving agencies.

16 years of service to youth have proven campCARE’s esteem-building program truly helps troubled youth find the necessary inspiration to make positive changes in their lives, and the motivation for a future full of hope and promise.

Sports provide the first break in the ethnic barrier between kids, serving as the means in which friendships are forged between young people from different backgrounds. The mantra of RESPECT CAMP is “embracing differences until difference doesn't make a difference.”

campCARE supports a BRIGHTER FUTURE for children in need, offering them a path towards more productive and fuller lives. Providing a high-quality experience, our programming offers an all-inclusive learning and life-changing experience guiding youth to:

campCARE was created to make a positive change in the lives of troubled young people via sport.

The Heavenly Respect Camp, Tahoe 2006, was designed to enhance understanding, transcend differences and bend the cultural lines separating urban youth. The iconic learn-to-snowboard camp was geared to improve youths’ self-esteem and personal development. Each volunteer coach and staff member believed that every kid deserved to discover strengths, expand personal ideology, set goals, and feel free to dream.

Thirty-five battle-scarred youngsters came from four California Group Homes to learn how to ride.

Through compassion, enthusiasm, and guidance, our amazing volunteer coaches and staff lead these youngsters- so full of hopelessness, frustration and sadness- on a memorable journey to discover renewed hope and joy together as one group of friends.

Disenfranchised young people were encouraged to grow, discover their own self-worth and move towards finding their place in this world.

Witnessing the smiles on kids’ faces revealed how much the campers experience the joys of achieving their goals, many, for the first time in their young lives.

We all left that camp feeling more invested in our World- deeply touched by the courage of these young survivors of abuse- and determined to Do Good whenever we could.

It was an experience where giving back gave more back to us all. Thank you each and every one, for being such wonderful, good people. I will always be proud of you, and know each of you are destined to make this World a better place.
