Last night's Summer Twilight Concert, which wrapped up the 2026 season, was absolute perfection. Salty Papa - the Coral Del Mar Opening Act - opened the show with a set that got the capacity crowd going for a great night of music, dancing, and fun. Then The Walrus - A New Orleans Beatles Experience took the stage and performed many of their amazing Beatles covers. A really special treat for the audience was the band playing some songs from their debut album "Elysian Fields Forever" that will be released on September 25th. The album is filled with Beatles songs done in New Orleans-style music. From what we heard last night, this sounds like an album you'll want in your collection. Here are a few photos from last night's DMF Talk "From Migration to Connection: A Sonic Journey from Neo Classical Music to Whales Songs" presented in collaboration with Del Mar International Composers Symposium (DMICS). The Talk featured a discussion and live performance by composer Shannon Hayden, occurring as part of the 2026 DMICS season.

Two shows remain in the DMICS season: this evening's performance by Lyyra, an all-new, all-American. all-women, ensemble; and Saturday's North Coast Symphony Orchestra concert. To learn more or get tickets: delmarcomposers.org

The music in Del Mar is absolutely firing this summer. Last week was the third 2026 Summer Twilight Concert with The Anthony Cullins Band - the Coral Del Mar Opening Act - getting the crowd fired up; followed by Steely Damned 2, who kept the park rocking until dark.

The 7th season of Del Mar International Composers Symposium (DMICS) began on Saturday, and runs through this week with performances tomorrow, Friday, and Saturday; and a DMF Talk on Thursday. DMF is thrilled to be able to support this amazing local organization, which exists to encourage the sharing of new musical ideas between composers, performers, and the community, and to present the best new concert music from around the world in the City of Del Mar. Visit delmarcomposers.org to learn more and get tickets for this week's concerts, and delmarfoundation.org to learn more about this week's DMF Talk.

DMF's second Summer Twilight Concert of 2026 took place last night, and it was a truly fantastic evening. Fat Paw - the Coral Del Mar Opening Act - began playing as the heat of the day transitioned into a perfect summer night. Then Back To The Garden rocked the park and had the crowd on their feet well into the evening. More photos at photos.delmarfoundation.org/2026

America's 250th birthday got off to a great start in Del Mar with our July 4th Parade. Powerhouse Park was filled with Del Marians who celebrated by first reciting the Pledge of Allegiance in unison (led by the mayor and members of the city council), then parading up and down Coast Blvd. behind a DM fire truck, and finishing off the morning with lemonade (donated by Jake's) and cookies. Hope you all are enjoying the holiday!

Some photos from our first Summer Twilight Concert of 2026, which took place last week. Wish - the Coral Del Mar Opening Act - got the crowd fired up, and then The Mighty Untouchables took the stage and had the crowd on their feet through sunset and into the night. It was really great to have some students from Torrey Pines High School join the many longtime volunteers helping out at the concert. The next show with opening act Fat Paw and main act Back to the Garden takes place on July 14. In the meantime, join us for the July 4th Parade, 9am at Powerhouse Park. See delmarfoundation.org for more information.

DMF kicked off spring this past weekend with the Young Del Mar Easter Egg-stravaganza. The fun-filled afternoon included attendees making their own Easter bags at SDCL Del Mar Branch's table, an egg crawl for those two and younger, an easter egg hunt, and photos with the Easter Bunny. For those who want to view/download their photos taken with the Easter Bunny, please go to photos.delmarfoundation.org/2026. The Easter Bunny will be back in Del Mar this coming Saturday afternoon with treats for Del Mar's dogs (more info available on DMF website).
