About Us
When CB Radio became popular in the 1960’s and 70’s, before cell phones, CB Radio was the main means of communications for the traveling public. In 1962, there was a need for an Emergency Channel which was Channel 9 set by the FCC. Channel 9 was monitored 24/7 by what was called REACT (Radio Emergency Associated Communications Team) Today with cell phones, the need for CB has all but gone away although truckers still use CB in many parts of the country. REACT Teams are still around (including San Diego) but use mostly Amateur Radio (Ham)
Today, Southwestern REACT provides communications for public events such as marathons, parades, Bike Events and traffic control. We also can provide assistance to accidents before EMS and Fire show up
