Zoey is Loosing her Foster right before 4th July weekend. Will she be adopted by then OR can we secure foster to start first week July? Zoey is a 34lb shepherd mix SF 6 months. Fantastic with children, cats, dogs. Here is what her foster dad has to say about her: Zoey has been such a great dog to foster. She has had very few accidents in the house and is already learning our daily routine. She knows when it’s time for walks, meals, naps during the day, and bedtime in her crate. She does extremely well in her crate and never cries or makes a fuss. She is incredibly loving and will gently paw at you whenever she wants a little extra attention. Zoey loves being active and enjoys walks and runs, but she is still a puppy and tires herself out after a good adventure. We’ve also been working on basic manners, especially around food. She is learning not to beg while we eat, and when we tell her “no,” she listens and will calmly sit next to us instead. She truly wants to be with her people. Zoey does very well in new environments as well. She has loved the beach, paddle boarding in the bay, and friend’s houses. The only thing she has to work on is her anxiety in the car as she drools a lot, but that should get better with time. Overall, Zoey is a sweet, affectionate, and well-behaved puppy who is going to make an amazing dog for a very lucky family.…. We need this in all states. Heck we need this nationally and internationally.

For years, the volunteers who care for outdoor community cats have existed in a kind of legal gray zone. In many places, they risk being cited for abandonment simply for doing TNR, which involves trapping cats, getting them spayed or neutered, and returning them to their outdoor homes.

A landmark bill introduced in Maryland in February 2026 aims to change that, not just in Maryland, but potentially across the country.

Ash's Law, House Bill 912 and Senate Bill 750, was drafted by Alley Cat Allies and introduced in the Maryland legislature. If passed, it would make Trap-Neuter-Return the official state policy for community cats throughout Maryland. More importantly, it would prevent any county or city within the state from banning or restricting TNR programs.

The bill is named after a community cat named Ash. It also addresses the abandonment issue directly, amending Maryland state law to ensure that individuals carrying out TNR cannot be criminally charged for returning a cat to its outdoor home after the procedure.

This is significant because the current situation in many jurisdictions is deeply counterproductive. The very act of helping a community cat through a responsible, humane, evidence-based program can expose a volunteer to legal consequences. That discourages participation and leaves cats worse off.

Supporters of the bill include advocates, veterinary professionals, and legal experts. Opposition has come primarily from county government representatives concerned about losing local authority to set their own animal control policies.

The bill is being watched nationally as a potential model for similar legislation in other states.

When we say she’s a water dog.. this is what we mean 😂 Adoptable “Happy” is still available as of 5/29/26 and is now 25lbs and reaching 6mo healthy and vetted only thing she’s missing is a human (s) to choose this adorable Mexican mutt. Her brother “silly” was adopted and definitely pit bull on their DNA plus poodle and other dogs of course because WHY would she disappoint into falling to a TRUE baja mutt. Well, looks like we need help and searching for a few sponsors who could be our doggos & Kittos godmothers/godfathers to provide some enrichment while these fur babes are in limbo foster care until they reach their final destination at a forever home. Right now we have gone through a LOT of resources ei food, treats, litter etc the past couple months on the same crew because there are NO adoptions. We mostly acting as sanctuary for many of them who are taking forever to find homes and depleting our storage. As of 5/3/2026 we ran out mostly of ALL dog enrichment ei treats, chewables, going through toys like crazy and we only have 2 weeks worth of cat dry food left. We are probably a month away from opening our last dry dog food. We will update the list to add items later. This updated wishlist is just an example BUT any and all items are welcomed. If you can sponsor items feel free to choice ANY brand of milk bones (dry crunchy large is where the fun is at) as well as any brand chewables. Cat food we would love Costco brand or on the most budget friendly. If you are planning on sending present to our ARWOBers feel free to choose items on Amazon which are discounted or having offers (More bang 💥 for your buck 💰) larger cat bags or larger treat bags are always more economical than the smaller. So. Tired. Of cruelty. To people. To animals. National. International. If you live in Spain or know anyone in that goverment for DOG sake rise tje F* up. Exploiting animals is bad enough but not even a pain free death⁉️ That is NOT culture. That is just a handful of powerful/wealthy people who are complete psychotic masochists and they must be stopped. Only the citizens of Spain can do this. We can help push by educating and spreading the word by sharing to bring this evil to everyone’s attention. do hope those dogs who can’t be brought back can at least be rescued and helped by being humanly euthanized and removed from that hell. Alright guy, when we say we desperately need HELP. We mean it. We don’t often ask for immediate action but we do NOW. To keep the pups under our care safe we MUST find fosters, adopters or a couple rescues who have the ability to take even ONE of our pups who are healthy, fully vetted, they need nothing done medically. Excellent crate trained manners, social towards ALL people, dogs and cats. However, they can’t be adopted in pairs and ideally fostered separate from each other ei one foster pup per home.
Loving, intelligent, well behaved (until pack mentality kicks in when one of the dogs gets the zoomies and chase ensues - ) - cant make an event? The pups are in the 92111 and we can meet at the dog park or regular park for a walk. Please, tag rescues who may have fosters or adopters who may be interested in taking 1-2 pups under their care, spread the word with your friends, family and neighborhood in case they have been searching for a pup/dog with well known personality, behavior and energy level we can tell you ALL about each and every one of them.
