Latina Giving Circle of San Diego

Latina Giving Circle of San Diego OUR MISSION is to ignite the power of the Latina connection through giving, leadership, service and networks.

The Latina Giving Circle of San Diego is an exciting new effort to bring together a community of San Diego’s Latinas who want to uplift, celebrate and share the philanthropic traditions and values of the Latino community. We believe that Latinas are important to the success of our region; we believe in the power of collective giving; and we believe that creating an inclusive network of wise, generous, and connected Latinas will create positive change for all in San Diego County.

Todos Somos Migrantes is one of LGC's 2025-2026 grant cycle recipients and has used the funds from LGC to support family reunification. The organization has helped 10 families in reuniting with their loved ones after decades of not being able to see each other. Additionally, the organization continues to organize weekly food distributions for the community, providing fresh produce, staple foods, and even dog food. Each week they distribute food to nearly 400 households.

Latina Giving Circle is proud to support and all of the amazing work they do within our community! To learn more about their initiatives, head to the link in our bio.

California has officially designated today, March 31, as Farmworkers Day. This day recognizes the immense contribution of farmworkers who tirelessly harvest food and are essential to our communities. Not only is Latina Giving Circle choosing to honor and recognize farmworkers both past and present today, we are also standing in solidarity with female farmworkers. We are happy to announce that we are able to give $1,500 to , an organization advocating for female farmworkers, creating healthier working conditions, safer environments, and engaged women leaders.

We are always grateful for the impact that the collective giving of our members can make, especially in times like today. Happy Farmworkers Day 💜

Meet Iliana Kenyon! 💜✨ After attending the Noche de Giving event last fall, she joined Latina Giving Circle with a desire to learn more and support the community in meaningful ways. When asked why she chooses to give her time and resources to LGC, this is what she shared:

"Love and connection - I deeply love my community. Given the current atmosphere of fear and divisive rhetoric, it is important to me to continue creating spaces that are rooted in care and commitment. Collective action is one of the strongest tools to amplify impact."

Iliana is passionate about human rights, social justice, and their intersection with economic development. She is excited to continue supporting LGC in different capacities, and we're happy to have her!

We're back with more membership spotlights! Meet LGC Member Yahaira Murillo! Yahaira has been a part of this community since attending our 2024 Arts for Mental Wellness panel. When asked about the impact being a member has had on her, Yahaira shared:

"It has reminded me how important it is to create intentional spaces for Latina women to gather. I hold a deep respect for all the women that are part of LGC because they donate their time and resources to something, all while being professionals, mothers, partners, etc."

Our members are what make LGC so special. Be on the lookout for more spotlights to come 💜✨
