I CAN'T EVEN......Nobody wants to see this, please don't look away.

THIS is typical of what is going on in California Shelters right now. Shelter directors AKA head dog catchers are being paid salaries EQUAL to our California Governor. And sometimes as much as twice that amount like Los Angeles County/ San Diego Humane CEO's who are making over $40,000 A MONTH.
With ZERO OVERSIGHT.
This very shelter system in Los Angeles is given a $35 MILLION $$ budget, and this is what we get. Here in San Diego, the Humane Society CEO sent 300 small animals (bunnies and guinea pigs, pocket pets) on a transport in a hot truck to Arizona where they ended up frozen and were used to feed reptiles. ZERO CONSEQUENCES. Riverside County Animal Services gave a no bid $2.4 million dollar contract to a "consultant" at the animal shelter with the highest kill rate in multiple states. When hundreds of taxpayers and animal advocates showed up to protest and ask to cancel the ridiculous contract within the 30 day window, they were mocked and sent away. Utter malfeasance, it was money that could have been used to spay and neuter animals and a whole lot more.
Mayor Karen Bass and others who are hiring shelter directors continue to hire the exact same sociopaths to run the shelters. Claiming their extensive searchs turns up the best. Just a couple of years ago, it was Stayee Dains... who was hired by Bass after after her utter, public San Jose failure, and then her Long Beach failure then LA City failure. (and of course Daines is still working at a shelter, now in Sacramento. She'll have a job for life in the shelter system, because there are zero standards of competency)
Just finished up with another of LA's finest: Annette Ramirez, I heard with my own ears at a LA Commissioner meeting when she proudly boasted that she THROWS ALL THE CATS OUT THE BACK DOOR OF THE SHELTERS. Called them friendlies and ferals... all must go!!! No caregivers, no food. She even claimed OUTLOUD "someone will feed them"? Were they spayed or neutered? Who knows... it's almost like SPAY AND NEUTER ARE SWEAR WORDS TO these so called experts. Ramirez openly violates animal abandonment laws. Abandons cats to die on the streets in a cat culling nightmare.
And now the new hire: Gabrielle Amster.... "a 19 year veteran of ANIMAL WELFARE SERVICE"??? Of course, sanctioned by none other than Cal Animals, Jill Tucker. If you don't know, Cal Animals is that cartel of over 200 shelter directors and Best Friends in California who have wrenched absolute control of our shelters from animal advocates and taxpayers and ridiculously claim to be the experts in animal sheltering.
These so called overpaid, under supervised, EXPERTS HAVE FAILED THE ANIMALS AND TAXPAYERS MISERABLY. (Cal Animals Exposed)
They continue to hire the same prototype who operate outside animal protection laws in shelter after shelter. They move them from shelter to shelter like the Catholic church did with the priests.
And these heartbroken, terrified, starving, orphaned animals pay the ultimate price. They suffer like this and then are dragged to a back room, crying and are killed and dumped on a rendering truck. THIS IS CRUEL, INSANITY.
We are smarter than this, we are better than this. Running slaughterhouses for dogs and cats with tax dollars is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE.
DAMN. after long FIFTEEN YEARS, this rescue, like all the others are weary and broke. The outlook has never been so bleak it's hard to fathom a way forward.
Taxpayers in just one city, the city of LA are giving these inept, uncaring monsters about $35 MILLION DOLLARS A YEAR to take care of the animals and this is the best they got......
WHERE IS THE SPAY AND NEUTER TO END THIS???? Why do Cal Animals, and shelter directors INSIST UPON KEEPING THE PIPELINE FULL OF HOMELESS ANIMALS? Job security???
At the end of the day, these animals are doomed, the shelter management runs an absolute HOSTILE, tightly controlled environment to maintain all power. They torment and threaten volunteers, retaliate against rescues. Violates animal protection laws. Mark animals "rescue only" and take 30 days to "approve" rescue, of course the animal has been 'killed for space" weeks before. And at the end of the day.... why would any family IN THEIR RIGHT MIND TAKE THEIR KIDS TO SEE THIS AT THE SHELTER~~ TO ADOPT A DOG???? https://www.facebook.com/reel/1377694287509043I
