Showing up for our planet and community means showing up to local government meetings. On April 16th IGC, along with a coalition of organizations, helped the City Council Environment Committee see how a nonprofit utility owned by San Diegans would be better than the investor owned utility we currently have. Public power has been successful around the country and state. It would save us money (instead of giving it to investors) while removing a major barrier to our climate justice goals!

On March 21st IGC and 24 other environmental organizations attended the North County Climate Change Alliance's Launching Earth Month event. It was amazing to see all of the great work that is being done in San Diego county and to hear about all of the exciting Earth Month events happening this April!

This why we created our Energy Equity 101 course, to give you the educational foundation to understand where our energy comes from and the impact it has on our lives. This is also why we joined a coalition of local organizations fighting for energy affordability and justice in San Diego.
