More than 1,400 cannabis plants have been seized and two men charged after a major police operation in the Hunter Valley.

Detectives allege multiple properties were fitted with elaborate hydroponic growing setups, with 1,465 plants seized and destroyed. Police estimate their potential street value at around $4 million.
