Happy to share that the Escondido Community Fridge is officially up and running!! Come drop by anytime to pick up or drop off some goods ⭐️ We got some toiletries and non-perishable items as well as some produce stocked in the fridge!
North County has a reputation of being a white, wealthy part of so-called San Diego, but that’s not the whole picture. We recognize there is so much more to our communities up north— with their own deep roots and stories— than tourist guides would have you believe, and so many people who would benefit from this resource. This fridge is here to prioritize mutual aid for folks who are houseless and/or people and families who are food insecure, and it’s here to carry on the spirit of building more long term resources for our people in the rest of North County (we see you Oceanside + Vista!) 💜

Here’s to the beginning of connecting our communities & resources across Southeast, South Bay, Central, East County, to all the way up North— and to eventually dismantling the systems that make these fridges necessary at all ;)
