Welcome to this Toastmaster meeting. We will traverse the boundaries of time and space, starting from an ancient Chinese fable, "The Little Horse Crossing the River," and proceeding to the brilliant programs of modern media personality Dou Wentao, to jointly explore an eternal and profound topic—Exploring Multiple Perspectives and Independent Thinking.
The story of "The Little Horse Crossing the River" succinctly reveals a profound truth: In the face of the unknown and challenges, everyone's experience and judgment are unique. Just as the little horse, when deciding whether to cross the river, heard both the easy description from the Ox Uncle and the warning from the Little Squirrel. In the end, it realized that only by trying personally could it find its own answer.
Nowadays, as we find ourselves in an era of information explosion, where various viewpoints and voices come flooding in like tides, can we, like the little horse, maintain an open mind to listen to different voices while possessing the courage and wisdom to think independently and make our own judgments?
At this point, let's draw inspiration from Dou Wentao's hosting artistry in programs like "Roundtable Talk." He is always able to guide in-depth and insightful conversations amidst the diverse opinions and clashes of viewpoints among guests. In my opinion, this respect and inclusiveness towards multiple perspectives, as well as the encouragement and advocacy for independent thinking, are precisely what our era needs.
Let us take the courage and wisdom of "The Little Horse Crossing the River" as our starting point and Dou Wentao's "Roundtable Dialogue" as our inspiration. Together, let's explore how to navigate the ocean of multiple perspectives and how to cultivate and uphold our independent insights. I believe through exchanges and sharing, we will all gain immensely, allowing the flowers of our thinking to blossom even more resplendently amidst collisions.
