INTRODUCING DORIS 💛

Long legs. Big smile. EVEN BIGGER heart.

Doris is the kind of girl who makes you smile just by looking at her. She came to us after being turned in as a stray to San Diego Humane Society, and it didn’t take long to realize this girl is absolutely overflowing with love.

With her gorgeous lanky build, we wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a little Great Dane mixed in with some pittie. Whatever her DNA says, we know one thing for sure: Doris is 100% adorable. 🐾

She’s playful, affectionate, friendly, silly, and happiest when she’s around people. And that smile? She seems to wear it everywhere she goes.

Doris may have started out as a stray, but she’s ready for the life she deserves, with a family of her own, lots of love, adventures, snuggles, and someone who will never get tired of that beautiful grin.

Doris is sunshine on four very long legs.

If you have room in your heart for a girl with long legs, a big smile, and so much love to give, Doris would love to meet you. 💛 Fill out an adoption application on our website or through the link in our bio

Meet Henry 💚

With emerald green eyes that will melt your soul, Henry is one very special little boy! He is a unique mix of Chihuahua and coated Xoloitzcuintli (Standard Xolo), and he is every bit as adorable as he looks.

Henry was saved by a wonderful Good Samaritan who reached out to us for help, and from the moment he arrived, he settled right in. He is happy, playful, affectionate, and already loving life with the pack.

This little guy seems destined to be everyone’s friend, dogs, people, and even cats included. He is eager to please, loves being part of whatever is going on, and he has already mastered going outside to potty. Such a smart boy!

Henry has that wonderful combination of sweet, silly, confident, and cuddly, and we think he is going to make an amazing companion for a very lucky family.

And seriously… those eyes.👀

Meet Calamari - “Cal.” 🐾

We’re SO excited to welcome our very first puppy from our new partnership with Animal Friends of the Valley in Temecula. And what a little guy to start with.

On September 11, a Good Samaritan found Cal inside a kennel, wrapped in a tent. They were afraid he wasn’t alive. Thankfully, he was. He has spent 10 days at AFV and now he is a MBPR puppy.

Cal was scared and trembling when we first picked him up. But once he got home, had a warm bath, met the our pack, and received a whole lot of love… something changed. 🥹

He came out of his shell almost immediately.

Now? Cal is playful, curious, cuddly, and absolutely soaking up his second chance. Watching this little guy discover that he’s safe has been so special.

His story started in a scary place, but that’s not where it ends.

From a kennel wrapped in a tent… to warm blankets, puppy friends, belly rubs, and a whole life ahead of him. 🐾

Welcome to MBPR, Cal. We’re so happy you’re here. 🤍

If you think Cal would be the perfect addition to your family, please fill out an adoption application on our website or through the link in our bio. 🐾

Meet Cindy🧸

(who looks a little like she rolled in a pile of ashes!)

Sweet, scruffy little Cindy is also from our new friends at Animal Friends of the Valley.

She was found all alone in a parking lot, hiding underneath someone’s car. Thankfully, they spotted her and brought her straight to the shelter. AFV quickly reached out and asked if we could take her.

Yes. Yes, we can.

And it was pretty much love at first sight.

Cindy is incredibly cuddly and sweet, and her favorite place to be is tucked right up under your chin. But don’t let that tiny little body fool you, she is holding her own with the bigger puppies here and loving every minute of it!

She is clearly some sort of scruffy Terrier mix, but exactly what kind? Your guess is as good as ours. We’re estimating she may be around 15–20 lbs full grown, but as always, that is just our best guess.

What we do know is that Cindy is affectionate, playful, confident and absolutely adorable.

From underneath a car in a parking lot to snuggled under our chins…

Welcome to Mission Bay Puppy Rescue, little Cindy.

If you’re looking for a tiny teddy bear with a big personality and an even bigger heart, Cindy might be your girl. Fill out an adoption application on our website or through the link in our bio to make her part of your family! 🐾

Meet Frankie! 🐾

No, you aren’t seeing double… this isn’t Enzo! 👀 If you’ve seen Enzo, you might do a double take when you see Frankie because these two could practically be twins!

Frankie is an adorable 5-month-old Pug mix with a sweet little story.

She was originally adopted by an elderly woman from a neighbor whose dog had puppies. It didn’t take long for her to realize that, because of her age and physical limitations, she simply wasn’t able to give an active puppy everything she needed. Through a mutual friend, she reached out to Mission Bay Puppy Rescue for help, and we were happy to welcome Frankie into our care.

Frankie is playful, affectionate, snuggly, and seems to make friends everywhere she goes. She enjoys being around people, gets along beautifully with other animals, and even does well with cats!

She is a fun, loving little girl who would make a wonderful addition to a family looking for a puppy who is ready to play, cuddle, and be part of the action.

Frankie is ready to find the family who will love her forever. 💕

If you think Frankie could be your perfect match, fill out an adoption application on our website or through the link in our bio.

Meet Captain… and, if I’m being honest, he might be my personal favorite. 🐾

There’s just something about this little guy that gets you.

Getting to know Captain, we have completely fallen head over heels in love with him. He is cuddly, sweet, gentle, and has the softest soul. He has the sweetest, most docile temperament and truly just wants to be close to his people. He wants to love and be loved.

Captain came to MBPR as one of 17 siblings, and while his brothers and sisters have found their forever families, Captain is still waiting for someone to choose him.

We honestly don’t know how this sweet boy is still waiting. But we’re not complaining about the extra time we’ve been lucky enough to spend with him.

Captain is the kind of puppy who will happily curl up next to you, soak up every bit of affection you’ll give him, and remind you every day just how special he is.

If you’re looking for a kind-hearted puppy with a gentle spirit and a whole lot of love to give, Captain might be your guy. We just know there is someone out there who is going to meet him and wonder how they ever lived without him.

If you’re interested in adopting Captain, please fill out an adoption application on our website or through the link in our bio.

And if you can’t adopt right now, please share Captain. You never know who might see his face and realize he’s the missing piece they’ve been looking for. 💙

We can’t wait for Captain to find his forever family and finally get to spend his days loving on his people.

Meet Enzo - the Pug-A-Dore!

Okay, okay… we think I’m a Pug/Lab mix, but Pug-A-Dore sounds much more appropriate, don’t you think?

I’m 4½ months old, about 20 pounds, and basically a professional good-time guy. I’m cute, happy, playful, silly, and apparently VERY good at showing off my amazing agility when treats are involved.

Somehow, a little guy like me ended up at the San Diego Humane Society as a stray. But my luck changed! Now I get to hang out at Mission Bay Puppy Rescue while I wait for my amazing forever family to find me.

I’m neutered, fully vaccinated, and ready to GO! Walks? Yep. Beach days? Absolutely. Road trips? I call sh***un. Couch snuggles after all that adventuring? Obviously.
I don’t need much… just a family who wants a happy little sidekick to grow up with.

Could that be you? 🖤 If you think you might be the perfect home for Enzo, apply to adopt him today through the link in our bio or on our website!

Enzo the Pug-A-Dore is officially ready for adoption! 🐾

Remember our sweet little Liberty? Well, she’s still available! ❤️

Liberty has been giving us kisses, soaking up cuddles, and stealing ALL the toys from her 16 brothers and sisters since she got here.

She is the sweetest girl and is so ready for a family (and plenty of toys) of her very own.

If you need a little toy gremlin in your house and think Liberty could be your girl, apply to adopt her through the link in our bio or on our website. ❤️

And if you aren’t in a position to adopt, please share Liberty so she can find her people. We just know her perfect family is out there!

Say hi to Banner.💙

For the life of us, we can’t figure out how this little man hasn’t been scooped up yet. He is sweet, playful, adorable, and quite possibly one of the biggest little lovers you’ll ever meet.

From the very first moment we were sent his picture, we knew there was something special about this boy. And look at him now… oh, how he’s grown up. 🥹

Banner is still waiting for his perfect family, and we just know that whoever gets the chance to call him theirs is going to fall head over heels in love with him.

Could you be Banner’s people?

If you’re interested in adopting Banner, please fill out an adoption application through our website or the link in our bio.

Not in a position to adopt right now? Please share Banner! You never know who might see his face and realize he’s the missing piece to their family. 🐾
