MUKTI EGRA Integrated Development project conveys our heartfelt gratitude to Indian Central Government sponsor COAL INDIA for empowering our village women of SHG (self help groups) to become more economically self sufficient. We had the privilege of hosting the MP of Medinipur Mr. Dilip Ghosh for a site visit along with MUKTI president Mr Sankar Halder. Thanks to all our local volunteers for organizing such a huge event in a very short time. We look forward to more Govt sponsored projects and opportunities in our community which will create more local earning opportunities along with better livelihood of villagers.

MUKTI volunteers (local villagers & students) at Egra-Sahara GP of Purba Medinipur (West Bengal, India) organized an initiative to go around the village areas and spray bleaching powder, lime (চুন) etc to stop the spread of disease just after the recent major flood.

On our way to enable & empower 500 needy students of underserved rural areas... and yes, you can help too.

We had this amazing opportunity to learn from these angels of Mukti Foundation. We are so honored to have had the chance of visiting Raidighi (Sundarban) last month along with our brothers/volunteers from Sahara (Purba Medinipur) village.

Our sincere gratitude to the whole MUKTI Team and their founder/president Mr Sankar Halder🙏

We are now in the process of starting the first Support School in a village of Purba Medinipur in West Bengal INDIA, to serve the needy poor students who are otherwise denied education due to Covid lockdowns and lack of homework help at home. This is a non-profit initiative (in collaboration with Mukti Foundation 501(c)(3)).

Please support us in this noble cause.

These schools are meant to support the poor students to help them finish their homework and give any additional practices necessary. In addition, they will be coached on healthy body, mind and character building. For teaching, we will depend on local unemployed youths and also kind hearted remote volunteers with help of technology. There will be co-located 6 classes/grades (5-10) where students will assemble 5 days a week from 6am to 9am before school starts. We will run special enrichment programs during weekends. In addition, there will be a Kisholoy combo class for grades 1-4.

We are now looking for options to procure a few large screen TVs / projectors, Zoom subscription, a few tablets, and a few PC-s for our online sessions. Plus, we need a few Bengali speaking educators/instructors who are willing to commit 1-2 hours each week to remotely tutor & educate the needy kids.

Many daily wage earners have lost livelihoods due to job losses triggered by COVID19. The government is certainly doing its part. But there are so many of these ill-fated families. We want to support these needy families by providing cooked meals free or at a very nominal cost. Local kind-hearted volunteers are organizing the meal preparation, but they need our help to cover the cost. Please come forward and help.
