Data Science Alliance We're building a thriving and sustainable responsible data science and AI ecosystem in San Diego. Join us! 🚀 Our Vision: A world where data helps without harm.

As data informs the algorithms and AI that increasingly shape business practices and government policy, we are here to represent the heart behind that data – the people. Our Mission: To foster a responsible data science ecosystem. The conversation about responsible data has already started; DSA is here to lead and guide it. We’ll shine a light on what works and guard against what doesn’t. We’ll nurture community and consensus as we build a collaborative framework for responsible data science practices. Join us!

Building for Good: Day 2 🚀

From housing affordability to hunger, teams at last week's hackathon tackled serious issues with extraordinary ideas. A big congratulations to the winning groups:

🥇 Parsel
🥈 BellyUp
🥉 CareSpace
👏 Best use of EyePop.ai: Fruitful

It was inspiring watching a room full of innovators from different backgrounds work together with a shared passion for responsible data science and AI. This is how we build a world where tech is used to help, not harm people.

Couldn't make it? Don't worry, we have more events on the way very soon. 👀

This is what happens when bright minds unite to build something meaningful! 💡

The energy was electric on Day 1 of our Building for Good Hackathon! ⚡ 100+ developers and designers joined us to tackle real challenges like homelessness and food insecurity.

Teams used data science and AI to build impact-driven solutions for our neighbors in need during a day full of innovative ideas and new connections made. Stay tuned for a Day 2 recap, including details on the winning teams’ extraordinary pitches. 🚀

A big thank you to Startup San Diego for partnering with us on this event, and to all our judges, mentors, sponsors and community partners!

What if your health could be understood before something went wrong?

That’s the idea behind Neko Health. Using advanced scanning technology, data, and AI, Neko is working to detect potential health issues earlier, with the goal of shifting healthcare from treating problems to preventing them.

As we recognize National Wellness Month, we’re looking at how data science and AI are changing the way we think about health and what’s possible with responsible innovation.

This is just one example of data science and AI being used for good. 🩺📊
