A year ago, a good man stood at the door of our Lodge and knocked—not merely upon a physical door, but upon the door of Light, Brotherhood, and self-improvement. Like every seeker before him, he came with hope in his heart and a sincere desire to become a Freemason.
His journey did not happen overnight.
While waiting for his opportunity to advance, he never allowed disappointment or impatience to overshadow his purpose. Instead, he chose to serve. He attended Lodge events, volunteered whenever help was needed, supported his future Brothers, and quietly demonstrated that Freemasonry is not just about receiving degrees—it is about giving of oneself.
There were moments when he could have asked, "When will my time come?" But instead, he trusted the process. He held firmly to one simple belief:
"In due time, I will become a Master Mason."
Those words became more than a saying—they became his guiding principle.
Tonight, that faith was rewarded.
After patiently waiting, persevering, and proving himself through humble service and unwavering commitment, he was finally raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason.
His story reminds us that the journey is just as important as the destination. The lessons learned through patience, dedication, and faithful service prepare a man to truly appreciate the honor and responsibility of becoming a Master Mason.
Congratulations, Brother Elliott Raspberry, Sr. on reaching this significant milestone. May you always remember that your greatest lesson began long before tonight—it began the day you chose patience over frustration, service over recognition, and faith over doubt.
