For Our African Jews rendition of Shalom Aleichem.

"Shalom Aleichem" is a traditional Hebrew song sung on Friday evenings to welcome the Sabbath angels into the home. The authorship of this song is attributed to Rabbi Shlomo Halevi Alkabetz, a Jewish Kabbalist and poet who lived in the 16th century. Rabbi Alkabetz was a prominent figure in the mystical movement known as Kabbalah and is also known for his contributions to Jewish liturgy. "Shalom Aleichem" has become a beloved part of Jewish Sabbath rituals, symbolizing the peaceful and spiritual atmosphere of the Sabbath eve.

It fosters a strong bond between mother and child, emphasizing the importance of nurturing and close familial ties. The physical closeness also allows infants to be an integral part of their mothers' daily activities, promoting a sense of security and connection.
