Thanks to so many of you who have supported us, we have now received 87 water filters! 🎉

And that means something truly incredible: approximately 435 children, women, men, and elderly people will be able to drink clean, potable water. 💧

Every single filter represents a family with safer water to drink, cook with, and use every day. What may seem like one small filter can make a huge difference in someone’s life.

Good morning, ! I know this page is for all our wonderful donors at Fundamaya! But I saw this and thought of my mother, Sharon Smart, as I'm always thinking of her! But today, the phrase "it's loving someone who will always matter" and it got to me because I know she always made sure SOMEONE MATTERED; she heard each story and made sure everyone was able to hear it and learn about their situation and their story and was able to help in any way possible. And I just wanted to THANK YOU all of you for believing in her dream and her goal in life, which was to help everyone and make them matter ❤ Have a great Wednesday, Fundamaya Family! Dear Fundamaya Friends and Family,

We wanted to personally let you know about a small change coming to the way you support Fundamaya.

We are transitioning our online donations from Donorbox to a new giving platform called Givebutter. We know that changes like this can sometimes feel confusing or stressful, especially when it involves any donation, so please don’t worry we are going to make this transition as easy as possible for you.

Our current Donorbox donation system will remain active on our site for a while so that no one feels rushed. We know that some of our supporters may not see this email or our announcements on social media, and we want to make sure your support continues without interruption. We will be changing it on our website in a couple of weeks and adding the new link in different emails.

If you are wanting to change any of your donations, recurring donations, ready to set up a new donation to change to Givebutter, we kindly ask that you do so when you have a chance.

If you have successfully set up your recurring donation through Givebutter, please remember to cancel any of your recurring donations through Donorbox so that you are not charged twice.

Givebutter has all the options to donate the same way as you were donating, via PayPal, Venmo, by check, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or credit card, but you can still donate by Zelle and all the other options too!

Givebutter does charge a processing fee. These are Givebutter payment-processing charges and are separate from your donation to Fundamaya, which if they are not charged, it will deduct from Fundamaya's donation.

When you make your donation, Givebutter shows you an additional optional tip to give to Givebutter. This tip does NOT go to Fundamaya and is not required to complete your donation. You can simply change the Givebutter tip to $0 or the amount you prefer before completing your donation.

Please know that Fundamaya does not require or request the optional Givebutter tip. The choice is entirely yours! They ask for this tip so their website can continue to be free core services for NGOs to help them grow! ❤️

Donations have been coming in, and every single one has been a true blessing!

Today, we've reached 75 water filters funded! 🎉 That means 370 people will soon have access to clean, safe drinking water.

This is Rosario, a kind and hardworking woman who collects her family's water from the local pila and carries it a long distance home every day. A water filter will not only provide her family with safe drinking water, but also help protect them from waterborne illnesses.

We know our goal of $74,000 is a big one, but every donation brings us one step closer. Whether we reach the full goal or not, every water filter means another family has hope, better health, and clean water to drink.

To everyone who has donated, shared our campaign, and encouraged us along the way! THANK YOU!!! Because of you, lives are already being changed, one water filter at a time. We will be handing them out the first week of September! Our fundraiser ends August 31st on Sharon's Smart birthday!! A huge THANK YOU to Mireille and Global Legacy Programs for their incredibly generous donation of 10 sewing machines to Fundación Familia Maya! ❤️🧵
Omar our Volunteer coordinator traveled to Antigua to pick them up and bring them to Panajachel!
Thanks to this wonderful gift, women who successfully complete our Basic Sewing Course will now be able to receive a sewing machine of their own as they graduate. This gives them the opportunity to continue practicing their skills, start earning an income, and build a brighter future for themselves and their families.

We are so proud of each woman who dedicates herself to learning a new skill, and we are deeply grateful to Mireille and Global Legacy Programs for helping make these dreams possible.

We are truly, incredibly happy, excited, and deeply grateful to Maya Jones Clothing and its founder, Anne! for their generous donation of $2,000!

Because of this amazing gift, we are able to add even more water filters to our campaign in honor of our beloved Executive Director, Sharon Smart, who continues to inspire our mission every day. Thanks to this generosity, we have now reached 44 water filters that will provide clean, safe drinking water to families in need.

Today, I'm so happy to announce that our psychologist at Fundamaya has been working hard to create a safe and supportive environment in our preschool classrooms.

We have officially introduced Calm Corners in each preschool, a special space where our little ones can go whenever they are feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, sad, angry, or simply need a quiet moment.

Our teachers are also receiving training to help children recognize and understand their emotions, guide them through calming strategies, and support them as they return to the classroom ready to learn, play, and thrive.

At Fundamaya, we believe that learning starts with feeling safe, loved, and understood. By teaching emotional regulation at an early age, we're helping our children build confidence, resilience, and healthy lifelong habits.

We are incredibly proud of this new step in nurturing not only young minds, but also young hearts. ❤️
