Xan You Matter Foundation

Xan You Matter Foundation Every life matters. It’s never to late to speak to someone about depression. End the stigma He was a sophomore at NAU and fighting to live.

Our first born and only son Xan lost his battle with depression at the age of 20 yrs old on October 27th 2019. Xan was the kindest most tender hearted, intelligent, wise, respectful, responsible, multitalented, artistic, and simply a pure and beautiful soul. Xan had been fighting depression that we noticed around the age of 15 and was professionally diagnosed with manic and bipolar disorder at the

age of 18. I started Xan you Matter Foundation to help end the stigma of mental illness and give hope to those struggling by providing resources and education. Xan had everything going for him and most saw him as the poster child of a perfect son. He was to us, but depression is a real disease and we lived and loved him through his highs and the lowest of lows (at least the ones he allowed us to see). Getting the message to every teenager and young adult is key and Xan will help us get his message out. He is a and

Today many people across the United States are feeling fear, confusion, and emotional exhaustion from the events unfolding. When the world feels unstable, our mental health can take a hit in ways we do not always recognize.

At Xan You Matter Foundation, we want to remind you of one thing: your feelings are valid and you are not alone.

If you are feeling anxious or overwhelmed, here are a few simple ways to care for yourself today:
• Take a break from the news and allow your mind to reset.
• Reach out to someone you trust and talk about how you are feeling.
• Go outside for a few minutes and breathe deeply.
• Remember that it is okay to ask for help and support.

Your mental health matters. Your peace matters. And your voice matters.

Some days feel light. Some feel heavy. Every one of them shapes you.
Wherever you are today, you matter more than you know. 💛💙🌻

If your mind feels full or your heart feels tired, take a moment to breathe and remember this truth:
You don’t have to earn your worth.
You don’t have to hide your feelings.
You don’t have to walk through this season alone.

You matter today. You matter tomorrow. You matter always.

When you hear someone speak from the heart, you feel it. That’s exactly what happened when Jeff Fields shared why awareness matters and why Teen Lifeline is so vital for our youth.

If we want to change the future, we have to start by talking about what too many families are afraid to say out loud. Our teens deserve tools, support, and a safe place to reach out before the crisis hits.

This is what Rock the Stigma 2025 is all about… conversations that save lives and a community that refuses to look away. 💛🌻

Our hearts are heavy hearing about the loss of Marshawn Kneeland, a talented young player with the Dallas Cowboys who died by su***de at just 24 years old.

Behind every headline is a human being — someone’s son, teammate, and friend. His passing is a painful reminder that mental health struggles don’t discriminate. Even those who seem strong, successful, and surrounded by support can be fighting silent battles.

At the Xan You Matter Foundation, we exist to remind people that it’s “okay to not be okay”. Every conversation, every act of compassion, every shared resource helps save lives and break the silence surrounding mental health.

If you’re struggling, please reach out. You matter. 💛💙🌻
If you know someone who is, check in. Your call could change everything.

Still processing it all💛💙🌻

Yesterday I took the day to just be, to rest, spend time with family and friends who traveled, and let my heart catch up to everything that happened Wednesday night.

Rock the Stigma 2025 was beyond what words can describe. The energy, the love, the stories shared… it was powerful. We’ll have reels, photos, and a full recap coming soon, but today I just want to start here with the incredible team that made it all possible.

From setup to silent auction, from welcoming guests to staying late for cleanup, you showed up with heart, passion, and purpose. None of this happens without you. Im sad i didn’get a picture with everyone.

This week we Rock the Stigma, and my heart feels everything.
Tomorrow marks six years since my son Xan became my angel, and these last two weeks I’ve been reminded again how many people are quietly struggling to stay here.

People you’d never expect.
Adults. College students. Friends. Loved ones.

Please check on your people. Ask how they’re really doing.
The small stuff doesn’t matter. What matters is love, compassion, and connection. 💛💙🌻

That’s what this movement is about.
That’s why the Xan You Matter Foundation was born.

You Matter

On Sunday, October 27th 2019 we lost our first born, oldest son, Alexander Leon. He was the heart of Debra Lion and I, as well as Ava. Xan battled depression for a long time. At this point I have more questions than answers. Our hearts ache for one more hug, one more text, one more call. Our faith is in Him, the one who created us. Energy does not dissipate, it only transfers. Xanny went from this world to the next.We will see you again my my sweet sweet boy. I know this In my heart. We have created a Foundation in Xans honor to help those fighting depression. More details and information re the purpose of this foundation to come.
