Check out what we have across the way here. Three big horn sheep, and they're kind of frisky. Two of them started to almost headbutt each other. We're at Black Something Camp, and there's lunch over there. I think we're going to have a little hike, but this is the main thing I wanted to capture. Beautiful scenery. Beautiful, beautiful.

Hello friend! 🌫️

All right, one more for this morning. I don't know if you can see the number of dragonflies flying back and forth in the air. It seems like as soon as the bats disappeared, dragonflies took over. They are just swarming. So many dragonflies in one place at one time. Just dancing around all over the place. Frolicking, maybe? I don't know. Looks like they're frolicking. To an outsider, this looks like a dragonfly frolic. Full on. Putting the tent away now. It's about 61 degrees out here. Can you imagine what it was like to be an explorer, coming down this river? Nobody knew what twists and turns lay ahead. It's such a good feeling to know you're alive.

Hello friend! 👽

What is this weird ritual? Green lips. Is that pink stuff going to stay, or will it go away? Seems like a question you could ask about a lot of things, doesn't it? Like that old tire that's been sitting out in the yard forever. Or maybe some habits we pick up. I don't know. I saw it happen and it was definitely something to witness. I guess it's one of those things that makes you stop and think for a second. What are we doing here?

Hey team Bravo. That's better. Keep us over. Almost there. Man, we are in the beautiful Grand Canyon. You can see all the scenery around us. Unfortunately, we got a Medevac, so we have to get one of our battle buddies off and then to definitive care. But otherwise, the rest of this population is going to enjoy the next 6 beautiful days on the Grand Canyon on the Colorado River. Yamo, Granite Beach, Granite Rapids. Somebody said Marathon Beach, but they probably, uh, Monument Beach. And look at that, they're getting ready to turn on that worthy bird. Everybody got everything kind of tied down. Everything's tied down, bro. Man, I don't know. I see you in action getting ready to go.

Hello friend! ☀️

Today was a bit of a scorcher, felt like riding through a furnace out there. Hit 106 degrees, and I passed this spot called Hellhole Trail. Almost turned around, but I figured I was getting close enough to my destination to push through.

I was trying to spice up some crunchy peanut butter, and I remembered this prickly pear snack mix Harry from Colorado City gave me. Really appreciate that, Harry. Mixing it into the peanut butter was a game-changer. It gave it this distinct kick – maybe the fennel or cinnamon, I'm not sure – but it totally changed the flavor. It's like adding a little spice to your life, or at least your peanut butter. Definitely something to try if you like that kind of thing.

Sonny and I are heading to see the show 'Greece' tonight at Tuacahn. He's excited, and I am too. It's nice to have a moment to relax and enjoy something before the next adventure begins.

Hello friend! 🌊

This is what camp looks like for lunch. I don't know all the names yet, but we've got some interesting ones rolling through here. This one's called Zoolander, which is something else. I'll have to look that up in the guide later. The rapids today were something else too. The 'knockout punch' was definitely the most fun I've had so far on the river, though another one definitely knocked my hat and glasses askew. This one felt like it was just right in your face. What do you even say to something like that? It's a lot to take in, but it's pretty amazing.

Hello friend! 🌊

This is what camp looks like for lunch. We've got a few names for the rapids on the river, and I'm still trying to get them all straight. There's 'Zoolander,' which sounds like it might be old school, and 'The Knockout Punch,' which I guess speaks for itself.

'Rapid Spin' was the most fun I've had so far, but there's another one that really knocked my hat and glasses askew. This current one felt like it was right in your face, though. What do you even say to something like that? It's a lot to take in, but that's why we're here, right? Just soaking it all up.

Hello friend! ☀️

These guys out here on the river brought a whole barbecue pit that fits in a boat. I watched them cook up some asparagus and mashed potatoes, and then Justin pulled off this amazing cake. I don't know how they do it, but the food manager, Michael, is a legend. Apparently, it's the same menu for every trip, which is wild to think about – almost 30 trips worth of food planned out. It's pretty incredible to see the effort that goes into making sure everyone's fed out here. I met Michael earlier, and he's definitely the kind of person who makes things happen. Being out here, you realize how much planning and work goes into these trips, especially when you're this far from civilization.

Gratitude is high on my list of feelings right now.

Hello friend! 🚁

There goes the helicopter. It was just here, massive, and then it was just a speck against the canyon walls. Watching it disappear like that, so fast, it makes you think. You see something that big and powerful, and then it's just… gone. It's kind of how things feel out here sometimes, I guess. One minute you're dealing with this huge, solid rock face, a massive wall of limestone and sandstone, and the next, it's just a memory or a shape in the distance.

It's a strange thing to be in a place this ancient and powerful. You can feel the weight of it all, the sheer scale. It makes you feel small, but in a good way. Like you're part of something so much bigger than yourself. I guess that's why we do this, right? To connect with something real, something that lasts.

Gratitude is high on my list of feelings right now.

Hello friend! 🏞️

I just love this waterfall. It's amazing how the water splits – you've got this main channel coming down and then it feeds into this whole other area, cascading over the rocks. It's like nature's own plumbing system, but way more beautiful.

This whole place feels so pristine, like it's been untouched. It makes you think about what it must have been like to explore this river for the first time, not knowing what was around the next bend.

Someone suggested taking a shower here, and honestly, I get it. Forget the soap, just rinsing off in this pure water sounds incredible. It’s moments like these, where you can just appreciate the raw beauty of the world, that make everything feel worthwhile.

Gratitude's high on my list tonight. Roll for veterans.
