Hey friend. We were out there, watching the sun go down and the clouds make this crazy, beautiful light show. Just looked like a bunch of old men standing there, so I called 'em the patriarchs. You know, when you're out there, and you see something like that, you just gotta wonder how you got so lucky to be looking at it right then. But then, you know, Mr. Time Schedule shows up. We got to get going before it gets too dark, and we don't have any lights. Or, well, we do, but you know. Can't be out too late.

I don't know how long I'll be doing this, but I'm glad you're here.

Hello friend! 🦃

Look at what you see. Turkeys crossing the road. I guess they were thirsty because there's water right over there. Wouldn't you cross the road for water? It's pretty amazing to see them just move through like it's nothing. They're still out there, the patriarchs of this place. It's a turkey.

Hello friend! 🏜️

This whole experience in Hurricane Valley has been something else. It feels like we've met so many friends here that we didn't even know before we rolled into town. I know I'll be carrying these moments with me for the rest of my life, as long as my memory holds up. Thank you to everyone in southern Utah who's shown Sean and I such kindness. All those names on the trailer, from here all the way up to Flagstaff – you're the best Team Bravo I could ask for. It’s been pretty special.

Hello friend! 🌲

Okay so — I was looking for a way in, you know, to get somewhere, and it turns out the entrance I thought was there wasn't really an entrance at all. Just kind of a dead end, I guess. I asked if there was another way, and honestly, it just felt like one of those moments where you have to pause and figure things out. How does nature do it? I want to know. How does it do it? It always seems to present these little puzzles, and you just have to stop and look at them. You can't rush it. You really can't.

Hello friend! 🌦️

We're on the outskirts of Ivins, heading out for the Veyo Loop. There's this really cool wind sculpture here, and I thought it'd be a nice place to talk about what we're doing. It's basically going down Old Highway 91, past Gunlock, looping around Veyo, and then down through Snow Canyon before heading back into Tuacahn. People have told us about Gunlock, and they say there's supposed to be water there, which sounds pretty magical. Super magical, you know?

So, wish us luck. If you don't hear from us in two or three weeks, it probably means we're waiting at the gate. I'm not sure when it opens, or if it even does for people like us. Old Highway 91, here we come. Rolling for nature.

Hello friend! 🤠

We were heading towards Gunlock, I think, and passed this place that used to be a house. It's way out in the middle of nowhere, and there's all this barbed wire telling you to stay away. But you can still see the chimney, and I swear it looked like it might have been a jail at one point – there were even bars on the windows. It makes you wonder what kind of stories that place could tell, being out there all by itself.

Sean and I were joking around, and he said he'd just climb over the roof that isn't there to get out, which made me laugh. We were listening to some orchestral music that felt like it belonged in an old cowboy movie, something like Lonesome Dove. It’s funny how certain music just transports you to a different time and place, isn't it?

Have the best day ever, my friends. And I'll see you on the top of that hill.

Hello friend! 🏞️

This is Kensico Reservoir. It's funny how sometimes you set out with a plan, maybe even a really solid one, and then something else entirely just pulls you in. Like this reservoir. I guess this is where we are now. It’s a pretty wild landscape, all told. You can feel the hum of it, this whole massive body of water cradled by these hills.

It’s moments like these that make you think, you know? About where you’re going, where you’ve been, and all the little turns you didn’t expect. And that's okay. That's more than okay, really. It’s part of the journey, the unexpected stops and the new perspectives they bring.

I don't know how long I'll be doing this, but I'm glad you're here.

You see him there, just completely unfazed by all the fuss, and you think, 'Wow, that's something else.'
