What's for lunch? 🍽️

During drill weekend, our cadets got a hands-on lesson in one of the staples of military life: Meals Ready-to-Eat (MREs). One of our Army service members walked cadets through the components of an MRE, how to properly use the flameless ration heater, and the importance of field nutrition when operating away from traditional dining facilities.

This drill weekend, our cadets had the privilege of hearing from a Marine Staff Sergeant assigned to 4th Reconnaissance Battalion. He shared insights into the training, discipline, teamwork, and leadership required to succeed in the reconnaissance community.

Opportunities like this give our cadets a firsthand look at military careers and the dedication required to serve at the highest levels. Thank you for taking the time to invest in the next generation of leaders and for sharing your experiences with our unit.

⚓ Steel Beach Potluck Success! ⚓

One of the best parts of Sea Cadets is the opportunity to come together as a family. This month's Steel Beach Potluck gave cadets, families, and volunteers a chance to relax, share a meal, and enjoy each other's company to conclude our training year.

A special thank you to all of our families who attended and generously brought desserts and side dishes to share. Your support helps build the strong sense of community that makes the Alamo Battalion such a special place for our cadets.

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to the Atascosa County VFW Post 4853 for providing delicious pulled pork sandwiches for everyone.
