SMASH CANCER was created by Ava's dad, Nick. For those who know him, he use to "draw" (tag) in high school. He left that world behind to join the military. When Ava was in PICU all those months, he began drawing again on her windows to brighten her day. And now his drawings are inspired by Ava's fight against cancer, inspired by all the kiddos we meet at every event.

I got to be part of this wonderful day. We experienced Yoga Nidra, lunch, crafts, sharing our stories, chair massage and a delicious charcuterie board. And if you never done Yoga Nidra you should try it out. So relaxing. I think a few of us fell asleep šŸ˜“. Honestly I was hesitant to go because I know how emotional I am. But I knew I would be surrounded by moms who would understand. I met some terrific moms and 2 of them are bereaved moms. Now we are friends and forever will be linked by the love for our angels. Thank you to the ladies who made this day special.

There is still time to purchase from our Amazon wishlist. All items on our wishlist come directly to Ava's Hug Squad, and we will use them at the Go Gold Event at BAMC.

All our capybara beads are out. The kiddos love them. And I found dumpling beads. Parents, you know how crazy kids are for these right now. I thought these little mushroom houses would be perfect with Hello Kitty beads.

I can't believe it has almost been a year since our first event! This year Ava's Hug Squad is returning to Go Gold Event at BAMC with BIG Love Cancer Care. Brooke Army Medical Center is a military hospital for military families located in San Antonio, TX. They have a pediatric oncology/hematology clinic. This event is especially for those families who receive treatment at the clinic. We have some fun activities planned for the kiddos. Many of our followers have asked what kind of supplies do we need. In response to this, I have added a wish list on our Amazon account. The items on our wish list will directly help Ava's Hug Squad with the supplies needed for our planned activities. I have listed items as low as $5. Egiftcards can always be purchased starting at $5 for us to use for this event. We do have one high price item.
