The 36th Annual International Women's Day was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who helped put it together! Without our collective efforts it would not be such a beautiful reflection of our class. Thank you to the speakers, to the amazing musicians that lifted all of our spirits and celebrated the rain and manifested our power through song and .ardiente . Yall were absolutely incredible! Thank you to the banner team for being organized and filling us with such surprise and joy as we take up space by marching in the streets but also filling up walls with our revolutionary messaging and art! The Assata banner was made by all of us, but a special shout out to Vanessa, , Diana and Fryda for sewing and for letting us use their space to paint it!! This is the first of many posts coming out! We look forward to continuing to build with you and be on the look out for some upcoming events!!

We are so excited to host and .ardiente ardiente at this year's International Women's Day Commemoration!

Las Hijas de la Madre are Amalia Ortiz (lyricist and lead singer), Errezeta (lead guitar, vocals), Lilith Tijerina (bass, vocals) Dr. Kip Austin Hinton (rhythm guitar and musical direction), and Joaquin Muerte (drums).

As a band, Las Hijas de la Madre centers Tejana voices and explores the correlation of Chicanx rasquachismo and the do-it-yourself ethos of punk. Las Hijas radically re-envision a historically white, male expression through the lens of intersectional feminism.

Trio Ardiente is an all-female San Antonio–based alternative mariachi trio redefining tradition with intention and heart. Founded by Amanda Lorraine Lozano, the project blends culture, edge, beauty and responsibility by using music not just to perform, but to serve and uplift the community that shaped us.

6 Days to IWD!!! We demand our basic needs be met and liberation- that's the minimum we can demand! Check out our IWD demands for this year! When we rally and march we are united in our call for an end to imperialist war, an end to purposeful misuse of our public dollars, we demand an end to gender based violence and we demand the world for our collective construction of a system ran by us and that serves us, the working class. A system that promotes peace and cooperation!!!

🔥❤️‍🔥TEXAS UNITED FOR INTERNATIONAL WORKING WOMENS DAY❤️‍🔥🔥

March 8th 2pm @ 115 N Main Plaza

Join Mujeres Marcharan in San Antonio to commemorate this international revolutionary holiday to uplift gender oppressed people across the world and here in Texas. Let us unite to remember the people who struggled for liberation from patriarchy and colonialism before us and create hope for the struggle towards liberation that lies ahead! Texas is the vanguard of fascism, and working gender oppressed people and children face the brunt of the attacks on our bodily autonomy, expression, education, healthcare, and the attacks on our environment. Our struggles may look different for city to city, town to town by our fight is the same.

Love is our sword and truth is our compass ❤️‍🔥🗡️

You are invited to a Collective Community Ofrenda which will be held before the International Women's March, down the river stairs, at Main Plaza. We will gather to channel Yanaguana, land of spirit waters, the river, to reclaim the space where many injustices towards our ancestors took place.

Feel free to bring your offerings of flowers, hand drum, rattles, and incense to share.

The Mujeres of Yanguana's Circulo Nepantla will be guiding the ofrenda, making land acknowledgement, calling the directions offering, and offering limpias in this hour.
