The Alamo Area Branch is the local group of NASW/Texas, a professional membership association that advocates for social workers, advances the profession of social work, and promotes sound public policy. The Alamo Branch has over 500 members in the San Antonio area with regular CEU, networking, and social events. The Alamo Area Branch of NASW/Texas covers the following counties: Atascosa, Bandera,

Bexar, Comal, Frio, Gillespie, Guadalupe, Karnes, Kendall, Kerr, Medina, Wilson. Schools of Social Work in the Alamo Area Branch include Our Lady of the Lake University and the University of Texas at San Antonio.
