Dear Community Partners,

As we head into a new school year, I’m excited to share the fall 2026 schedule for Picture Your World Nature Photography Workshops!

Through Picture Your World, Green Spaces Alliance of South Texas connects youth ages 8–18 with nature through photography, creative exploration, and time outdoors. Our monthly Sunday workshops take young photographers to different parks and natural areas throughout San Antonio, where they learn photography skills and explore the natural world around them.

No previous photography experience is necessary. Students may bring their own camera, or we provide one for them to use.

We would greatly appreciate your help sharing these opportunities with the youth, families, educators, and community members you serve. The workshops are a wonderful way for young people to spend a Sunday afternoon outdoors while developing their creativity and connection to our local natural spaces.

Workshop descriptions, dates, and registration information can be found on our event calendar, and the attached flyer can be shared with your networks.

We had a fabulous 4th Quarter District Convention in Laredo, Texas. Thank you all for a great year as our OIY comes to a close 30 Sep 2026. It’s been an honor and a privilege to serve as your South Texas District Governor.

Our Optimist year isn’t quite over. Let’s invite one more person to join the team and make a difference in the lives of not only youth in our communities but in people living in this world.

Did you know: While many of our programs are focused on helping families dealing with childhood cancer, we also have programs focused on helping families dealing with sickle cell and colon cancer. Optimist Club of San Antonio helped “Stuff the Bus.” We donated 450 needed school supplies to RMYA to be provided to students at RMYA and to students throughout the local 🚌community.
