Hope Hits Harder Cancer Foundation Hope Hits Harder is a grass-roots nonprofit founded in 1998 stemming from a personal cancer diagnosis.

The organization works with all three pediatric oncology hospitals in San Antonio to provide assistance to diagnosed children and their families.

Hope Hits Harder is excited to announce our 2026 gala, Hope and High Rollers. Join us at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort on Friday, October 16th for a vintage Vegas extravaganza!

A quick recap of Jana Banana Day 2026 🍌

This year, over 1,000 people attended Jana Banana Day! Families that have a child with cancer were treated to a fun filled day at SeaWorld San Antonio. We hope everyone had a great time petting the animals, going on rides, seeing amazing shows, and hanging out with their doctors and nurses.

Thank you Cavender Cares for being a part of this event year after year. We’re so grateful for the cute caps, water bottles, and incredible crew of volunteers!

We are overjoyed to announce the Hope Hits Harder Endowed Directorship in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology honoring Jana M. Bounds at CHRISTUS Children's. This honored position has been given to Dr. Nadia Cheek who has helped shape the fellowship program for over a decade. We are so proud of Dr. Nadia Cheek and can’t think of a more deserving person to receive this Endowed Directorship!

This Endowed Directorship is Hope Hits Harder’s $2.5 million commitment to improving the quality of life for children diagnosed with cancer. Increasing access to care is the greatest impact that we could make on the city of San Antonio. We are so grateful to CHRISTUS Children’s for giving us this opportunity to give back to the community that we love.
