We would like to extend a huge thank you to Lytle alumni and current University of Texas Dallas basketball player Jordan Balderaz for coming back to Lytle High School and sharing his knowledge with the campers at our FREE Slam Dunk For Life Basketball Camp.

Jordan spent time both speaking to and coaching up the kids, sharing his journey from growing up in Lytle to earning the opportunity to play college basketball. Jordan led Lytle to their first state appearance in 99 years! His story showed our campers that with hard work, discipline, and dedication, their goals are within reach.

This is exactly why Slam Dunk For Life exists. Our mission is to connect young athletes with positive role models who have walked a similar path and can inspire them to dream bigger. By bringing back individuals like Jordan, we are giving our youth more than just basketball skills—we are giving them confidence, motivation, and the belief that success is possible both on and off the court.🏀 🏴‍☠️

At Slam Dunk For Life, our mission goes far beyond teaching the game of basketball. We are committed to creating opportunities for our youth to learn valuable life lessons, build confidence, and hear from positive role models who have walked the path before them.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to Kaleb Johnson of the NBA G League’s Valley Suns for taking the time to speak with our campers in Lytle. Kaleb shared powerful words about the importance of character, education, hard work, and staying committed to your goals—no matter what path you choose in life.

What made his message even more impactful was his story. Coming from the small town of South Hill, Virginia, Kaleb was able to connect with our campers and remind them that no dream is ever too big. Through dedication, perseverance, and believing in yourself, anything is possible.

This is what Slam Dunk For Life is all about—using the game of basketball as a platform to inspire, educate, and empower the next generation. Thank you, Kaleb, for investing your time in our youth and helping us make a lasting impact on the Lytle community. 🏀

🏀 Making a difference beyond the profession.

A UAG alumna is helping empower San Antonio youth through free basketball camps hosted by a local nonprofit organization. This month alone, more than 100 young participants benefited from mentorship, teamwork, and skill development both on and off the court.

Day 1 of our FREE Slam Dunk For Life Basketball Camp at Lytle is in the books!

We had over 70+ kids attend today—what an incredible turnout! Thank you to everyone who helped make today a success.

A special thank you to Coach Vela and Coach Wilson for their hard work and dedication in helping make this camp possible.

We would like to extend a special thank you to Cole HS Alumni Shaquille O’Neal ( )for generously donating Shaq backpacks to the youth at our FREE Slam Dunk For Life Basketball Camp. Thanks to his support, 40 campers received their own Shaq backpack to take home.

We would also like to give a huge thank you to Coach Isaac, Head Boys Basketball Coach at Cole High School, for helping make this camp possible. His support, leadership, and commitment to the youth played a major role in bringing this event together.

This camp was held on base for students from Fort Sam Houston, and it’s our way of giving back to the military families who sacrifice so much for our country. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve these young athletes and thankful for everyone who helped make this camp a success. 🇺🇸🏀

Due to the weather, we will be canceling camp today. All other athletic events on campus have also been canceled. We will resume camp tomorrow as scheduled. Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.

From promoting healthier lives through our nonprofit to serving free meals for hardworking teachers, I believe real community work means helping wherever help is needed. 120+ pieces of chicken & sausage cooked for teachers & staff at Miguel Carrillo Elementary in South San ISD.

Slam Dunk For Life is excited to host a FREE basketball camp at Cole High School for the kids and families of Fort Sam Houston!

This camp is our way of giving back to the military families in our community who sacrifice so much every day. With Memorial Day here, we also want to take time to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives serving our country. ❤️🤍💙
