During a recent vacation at a resort, I visited a restaurant that featured a 50-gallon aquarium. As I walked in, I noticed a solitary fish swimming alone, while another fish was hovering near the top, just an inch away from the glass and three inches below the waterline swimming next to the filter. Initially, I thought the second fish might be dead or dying. After enjoying my meal, I returned to check on the aquarium and saw that the fish was still in the same position. Curious, I asked the hostess about it, and she explained that the larger fish was a bully, always harassing the smaller one, which was why it chose to hide.
This situation made me reflect on the dynamics among people in our lives—partners, colleagues, friends, and others. Just as the bigger fish exerted control over the smaller one, there may be individuals around you who subtly impose their expectations and desires. This can create a discomfort that is not in harmony with your beliefs or what you truly want for yourself.
Consider who these "bullying" influences might be in your own life. Reflect on how you might be manipulated by various forces, including political and religious leaders, or authority figures in general. It’s important to recognize these dynamics so you can ponder their impact and reclaim your personal power.

I had a client recently who had a mother that was afraid of dying, particularly because her mother was approaching the end of her life. Having experienced a similar situation with my own mother, I shared some, what I thought were, comforting thoughts.
I told her that death is merely a doorway to another dimension. On the other side, we return to a classroom-like setting, reviewing our lives much like the film "Defending Your Life" with Meryl Streep and Albert Brooks, which brilliantly illustrates this concept. In this classroom, we examine our actions and reactions in various situations, reflecting on the concepts we came to understand and master.
She expressed concern that her mother does not believe in reincarnation, so I suggested approaching the topic from a different perspective: everything is energy. According to the laws of physics, energy cannot be created or destroyed. Therefore, her mother's consciousness—an integral component of energy—will continue on.

Feeling stressed or anxious? I recently spoke with a client who was struggling with these feelings, and here’s what I shared with her:
First and foremost, it’s essential to identify the specific source of your anxiety or stress. You need to understand the true root cause, as you are never in a situation you can't handle or master. It's our doubts and fears that lead us to believe we can’t manage what we’re facing.
The truth is, you possess the inherent ability to overcome challenges. These fears and doubts stem from your belief system regarding who you think you are and what you believe you can handle. By examining the underlying cause of your fears or uncertainties about your abilities, you will begin to reclaim your power and strength to confront the issues at hand.
Changing your perspective can be transformative. Instead of feeling overwhelmed, a different focus can help you in seeing potential solutions. This shift in attitude is how the mind works to propel you forward!

Did you know that one of the most challenging things in life is not only changing your own mind but also admitting that you made mistakes in your thinking and choices? The next hardest task is changing someone else's mind—it’s often nearly impossible. True change must come from within, typically spurred by dissatisfaction with the status quo, dissatisfaction with oneself, and frustration with everything happening around you.
You can express your frustrations, but ranting alone won’t bring about real change. Transformation starts with you. The best first step is to look within. Examine your belief system and how you perceive the world.
Take the time to write down your thoughts and reflect on them. Ask yourself: Why do I think this way? Where did these beliefs originate? What alternative perspectives can I consider regarding this situation or group of people? Engaging in this introspective process will pave the way for deeper understanding and growth. This will lead to a happy and healthier you.

I was preparing a flyer for my lecture on cancer, exploring the perspective of one of my mentors who viewed cancer as the body's attempt to adapt and recalibrate to the changing environment. He believed that the only reason we ultimately die is because of a breakdown in cellular communication and organization—processes often attributed to the glial system, which supports and maintains cellular function in the brain.
This insight prompted me to reflect on the current state of America. There’s a profound lack of clear communication, coordination, and continuity among the people. The result is erratic behavior and disjointed efforts. Just as the body cannot survive when cellular communication fails—leading to cancer—our country risks a similar fate. Without effective communication and organized collaboration at a societal level, the nation’s stability could collapse.
It’s a thought-provoking analogy: the importance of open, clear channels of communication for health—whether in the body or in society—can determine whether we thrive or die trying.

Do you ever wonder why history repeats itself? At its core, it's due to recurring patterns of behavior that people exhibit. Just one thought can trigger these patterns.
Have you ever noticed how you might react strongly to someone who resembles a person, or brings your thoughts back to a situation. Or is it something they say? This reaction can upset you and reveal a deeply rooted concept being stirred within your subconscious mind, which then sparks a corresponding pattern of behavior. Every pattern has a built-in expectation it seeks to fulfil. That in turn validates the concept as being true, even when it works against you!
All patterns flow in cycles, which is why history often seems to repeat itself. Check out this biblical validation: Ecclesiastics 3:15. Take a moment to observe what's unfolding around you and consider where we, the USA, the world, stand in the cyclical nature of history. Reflect on your own personal history: where are you in your own cycle? Understanding these dynamics can provide valuable insights into both societal trends and your individual experiences.

Have you ever noticed how some nights the moon appears so large and close that it feels like you could reach out and touch it? This phenomenon is all about perception. The same applies to the problems we encounter in life: many can seem overwhelmingly large and impossible to tackle.
However, by shifting your perspective and changing your approach to these challenges, you can restore them to a more manageable size. Just like eating an elephant, one bite at a time. This adjustment allows you to find a new approach, a new understanding and discover solutions from the position of what I call a personal power and quiet strength—an empowering state.
Remember, very few challenges are truly insurmountable. Ultimately, everything in life boils down to attitude! Change an attitude, you change an outcome!
