MAY 10-16: BIOLOGICAL FAMILIES IN CRISIS
PRAYER FOCUS: HEALTHY COMMUNITY, IDENTITY IN CHRIST, AND HEALING
Lord, You are the God who restores. Breathe life into broken homes. Heal the wounds that separate parents from their children. Build healthy bridges between biological parents, foster families, and caseworkers. Trade shame for hope, addiction for freedom, regret for redemption.
Restore us, Lord God Almighty, make your face shine upon us, that we may be saved. Psalms 80:3

🛠️ Let’s Build A Bed!!! 🛏️
📅 Saturday | 9:00 AM

Hey friends—can’t wait to see you this Saturday for our Build-a-Bed (BAB) event!

This is an awesome, kid-friendly outreach where all ages can jump in and make a real difference. We’ll be building beds for families in need right here in San Antonio—and the weather looks great, so we’ll enjoy some “natural AC” outside! ☀️

🔧 What to Bring (if you have it):
• Orbital sanders / sanding tools
• Gloves 🧤
• Safety glasses or goggles 🥽
• Table leaders: bring any tools you’ll need for your station

(We’ll have some supplies—but not quite enough for everyone.)

📍 Location Details:
We’ll be set up off McCullough Ave. on the breezeway/porch—look for the white wrought iron fencing. There’s also a playground nearby if kids need a break!

🍕 Food:
Pizza will be provided (we’ll eat outside due to another event indoors).

❤️ Why This Matters
Through partnership with The Alliance for Orphans, we’re helping connect the church to families involved with CPS—working to keep families together and prevent kids from entering foster care.

This isn’t just about building beds… it’s about building hope, stability, and community in the name of Jesus.

🙏 Want to Go Deeper?
After the build, we’d love for you to consider taking another step:
• Deliver a bed or needed items
• Mentor a mom, dad, grandparent
• Provide ongoing encouragement (calls/visits once a month)

👉 Training is provided
📅 March 29 at 7:00 PM (Zoom)

If you have questions, reach out to Byron by text or email.

Let’s serve together and make an impact that lasts. 💪🛏️

🪵“Buy a 2x4 and Build-a-Bed” …These bunk beds are donated to children we are made aware of through Child Protective Services here in San Antonio. We are partnering with the South TX Alliance for Orphans. 🛌
❤️There are many ways to get involved! You can even have a young adult who has aged out of foster care choose you as their mentor.

For too long, conversations about child and family well-being have been framed as an either/or:

Either the government protects children — or communities support families.
Either we take abuse and neglect seriously — or we recognize the role that poverty, stress, and isolation have in shaping family life.
Either we place children in foster care — or we support families through community care.
This binary framing is not only misleading; it also limits our ability to truly keep children safe and help families thrive. Protecting children and supporting families is a both/and responsibility — one that requires a focused public child welfare system and strong, responsive community institutions working together.

Protecting children and supporting families requires both a child welfare system and communities.

When their church hosted Sunday of Hope, Father John invited his congregation to pray and ask God how they might respond to the needs of families in their community. He handed out simple response cards, encouraging everyone to take a next step—whether through prayer, service, or opening their home.
As a pastor, he was used to helping others take that step. But that Sunday, God began stirring something in his own home.

28 churches came together to give families in the Alliance Prevention Network a chance to thrive during the holidays. 35 volunteers made it happen with ease and delivered food to 85 families (with 200 bags).
All the churches raised at least $9000 to help families through the Alliance for Orphans (a collab of 50+ churches)

Will you help give food to make Thanksgiving Day a blessing to a local San Antonio family? Out of the 10 families your church has helped this year, only 2 are still in one piece. We need you to have a close relationship with a parent, pray for the family’s welfare and salvation, and bear their burdens. Are you willing to go the extra mile? You can volunteer this November 22 and you can help with expenses:
