This is a reminder for an exciting event to get a new look for the new school year!

Altrusa San Antonio will be there giving away free books. This is a great way to add books to or grow your personal library. Studies show that growing up with as few as 20 books, positively impacts a child’s education, while homes with 80 or more books significantly boost adult literacy and math skills. We look forward to see you there.

🎈📚 What a fantastic day at Chicken N Pickle - San Antonio s Back to School Bash! 🎉

Altrusa San Antonio had an amazing time connecting with so many wonderful families at this fun-filled community event! From colorful creations by the talented balloon artist 🎈 to smiles all around, it was a day full of laughter, excitement, and back-to-school fun.

One of the highlights? We gave away more than 350 books to eager young readers! 📖✨ There’s nothing better than seeing children light up as they choose a book to take home, helping inspire a lifelong love of reading.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who stopped by our table, visited with our volunteers, and helped make the day so memorable. Together, we’re building a stronger community—one book at a time! ❤️

🌟 Honoured to Be Recognized for Making a Difference! 🌟

Last Thursday, Altrusa San Antonio and ASTRA San Antonio were proud to receive recognition from the Bexar County Children’s Welfare Board for our work supporting the ASAP (A Serenity Activity Pack) program. 💙🎉

The ASAP program places backpacks filled with comforting items into the hands of police officers, who carry them in their patrol vehicles. When children experience a traumatic event or stressful situation, these backpacks provide much-needed comfort through items like 🧸 plush toys, 🎨 coloring books, 🌀 fidget toys, 🛏️ small blankets, and more.

These simple gifts help replace fear with reassurance, ease anxiety, and create positive connections between children and law enforcement. ❤️ Every backpack is a reminder that kindness, compassion, and community support can make a lasting impact.

We are incredibly grateful to partner with organizations that share our commitment to serving children and strengthening our community. Together, we’re helping bring comfort when it’s needed most. 🤝✨
