📚✨ Happy International Literacy Day! 🌎💙

Literacy is more than the ability to read and write—it’s a key that opens doors to opportunity, confidence, education, and a brighter future. 🔑📖

When people have strong literacy skills, they can:
🌟 Learn and grow throughout life
💡 Make informed choices and solve problems
💼 Access greater educational and employment opportunities
❤️ Build confidence and independence
🏡 Strengthen families and communities
🌎 Participate more fully in the world around them

At Altrusa San Antonio, we believe every person deserves the opportunity to discover the joy and power of reading. Whether it’s donating a book, sharing a story with a child, supporting a literacy program, or simply encouraging someone to read—small acts can make a big difference! 📚💕

👉 How will you help promote literacy today? Share your idea in the comments or connect with us to learn how you can make a difference in our community!

Read. Learn. Empower. Make a difference. 📖✨

🍩📚 Literacy can happen anywhere—even at your local donut shop! 📚🍩

Terry, owner of a local donut shop, Instant Donut at Judson, is grateful to Altrusa San Antonio for bringing books into her shop. And the kids? They LOVE it! ❤️

Now, while enjoying their favorite treat, they can also choose a book to read—and even take one home! 📖✨

It’s a simple idea, but it shows how small acts of service can create meaningful opportunities for children to discover the joy of reading. 🌟

📚 A book in a waiting room.
📚 A Little Free Library in the neighborhood.
📚 A book at a local business.
📚 A child choosing a story to take home.

Every book shared is a chance to inspire a lifelong reader! 💕📖

👉 What small way can YOU help promote literacy in your community? Share your ideas in the comments—or send us a DM to learn how you can join us in making a difference!

Let s celebrate International Literacy Month!

📚✨ SEPTEMBER IS LITERACY MONTH! ✨📚

This month, we’re celebrating something that has the power to change lives: literacy.

Reading opens doors to knowledge, imagination, confidence and a world of possibilities. Whether it’s a child discovering their first favorite story, a student gaining confidence, or an adult learning something new, every reader has a story waiting to unfold.

Throughout September, we’ll be sharing ways we can all make a difference—through reading, donating books, volunteering, encouraging young readers, and simply sharing our love of books.

As we continue our 250 Literacy Challenge, we invite you to join us in putting books into the hands of readers and helping create a stronger, more literate community.

Let’s make September a month to Read. Share. Inspire.

💛 Every book opens a door.
