🐾 ALAMO DELTA WATERFOWL – WORKING DOG WEDNESDAY 🐾

Dog’s Full Name:
Registered - Tūco Lion Crane

CALL name - Tūco

Owner’s Name:
Leon Garza Jr.

Breed:
German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP)

Age:
8 Years Old

Years Hunting:
8 Hunting Seasons

Quail

Other Game Hunted:
Pheasant, Chukar, Dove, and a little bit of Duck

Titles, Certifications, or Accomplishments:
AKC Junior Hunter (JH)

Who Trained Your Dog?
Ryan Garrett of

Favorite Hunting Memory:
There are too many to count, but one that stands out is a point, flush, and retrieve where Tūco head-butted a falling bird back into the air and caught it before it hit the ground.

Funniest Hunting Story:
After pointing, flushing, and retrieving a pheasant, Tūco apparently decided the hunt wasn’t exciting enough and picked a fight with a raccoon. Dad was concerned. Tūco was not. The trash panda learned a valuable lesson.

Funniest Habit at Home:
Spending hours staring at the fence waiting for a lizard to make a poor life decision.

Nicknames:
The Juggernaut Bird Finder
That Little A$$hole
Tūco Taco Ya Ya Ya
Tūco Mōlooco

Favorite Reward After a Hunt:
Cuddling with his momma on the couch.

What Makes Your Dog Unique?
Tūco hunts every bird like it’s the last one of the season. He has an incredible nose, endless drive, and a personality that keeps everyone entertained. Whether he’s finding birds or finding trouble, he does everything at 100%.

Anything Else We Should Know?
Tūco has never met a bird field he didn’t like, a lizard he didn’t want to chase, or a challenge he didn’t think he could win. He’s equal parts elite bird dog and lovable menace.

Bonus Questions

Biggest Retrieve:
A mature rooster pheasant that thought it had escaped in NM. Very rare!

Most Birds Retrieved in a Day:
Enough that Dad lost count and Tūco still wanted one more and was mad about the ones we missed.

Favorite Hunting Location:
New Mexico!

Worst Thing They’ve Ever Destroyed:
wife’s shoes…

Most Embarrassing Moment:
Probably the times he decided listening was optional when birds were involved.

Best Hunting Partner (Human):
Leon Garza Jr.

Best Hunting Partner (Dog):
Any dog willing to keep up, but he hunted his heart out with his friend River (female poodle pointer)

What Would Your Dog Say About You If They Could Talk?
“Stop missing all the damn birds”

📣 A Little Change to Our Weekly Spotlight Series! 📣

We’re shifting fire to the right side of the blind and making a change to our weekly spotlight!

After featuring some outstanding members through Meet Our Members Monday, we’re excited to launch Working Dog Wednesday! 🐾🦆

Before we make the transition, we want to give a huge thank you to all the members who have been featured so far: Ryan Watson, Jeff Oglesby, Chris Gohlke, Brennan Baglietto, Bailey Martinez, Jonathan Treutle, Nick Martinez, Nate Monteith, Jonathan, and Andrew. Thank you for sharing your stories and helping show what Alamo Delta Waterfowl is all about. This chapter is built by great people, and we’re proud to have every one of you in the blind with us.

We also want to give a special shoutout to the Treutle family for the incredible crawfish boil this past weekend. They absolutely knocked it out of the park. The crawfish was outstanding, the hospitality was second to none, and it was a perfect reminder that Alamo Delta Waterfowl is more than a conservation organization—it’s a family.

Now we’re turning the spotlight toward the partners who never miss an opener, never turn down a retrieve, and somehow always have more energy than the rest of us.

Starting this week, keep an eye out for Working Dog Wednesday, where we’ll feature the retrievers, duck dogs, and four-legged teammates that make every hunt memorable.

Got a dog you’d like featured? Send us a photo, their name, breed, age, and a little about them. We’d love to introduce them to the Alamo Delta Waterfowl family.

🦆🐾 From the members who make this chapter strong to the dogs who make our hunts unforgettable, thank you all for being part of the Alamo Delta Waterfowl family. See y’all Wednesday! 🐾🦆

🐾 ADMIN SIDE NOTE: 🐾
