Class XXII may have just graduated in April, but they’re already proving that the relationships built through MLP don’t end at graduation. It’s great to reunite, catch up, and continue building on the friendships formed throughout the program. We love seeing our MLP classes stay connected and engaged!

Today we officially said thank you and farewell to two incredible leaders as they rolled off the MLP Board of Directors — Helen Bryan and Barry Lipton.

Helen’s leadership as Past Chair helped guide MLP with wisdom, heart, and a deep commitment to our mission. A graduate of Class IX, Helen has served on an MLP or MLPAA board or committee for the past 14 years!

Barry brought thoughtful insight and steady leadership to our Finance Committee, always offering advice we could count on. A proud member of Class XVIII, we look forward to continuing to see Barry at MLPAA events and Rotary meetings.

Both have made a lasting impact on MLP, our participants, and our community. We are deeply grateful for their years of service, leadership, and friendship. Thank you, Helen and Barry, for all you have given to MLP — your influence will continue to be felt for years to come.

Thank you to MLP board member Evita Morin for inviting our Executive Director, Courtney, to attend the Archbishop’s Prayer Breakfast this past Tuesday morning. It was such an inspiring way to begin the day. Class XXII graduate, Laurie Kabes, was also in attendance.

Hearing keynote speaker Gordon Hartman share his message was a powerful reminder of the incredible good happening throughout our community and the impact that compassionate leadership can have on so many lives. Grateful for opportunities like this to connect, reflect, and be inspired alongside others who are committed to serving San Antonio

It was a privilege to spend time at Towne Twin Village this week. Getting a firsthand look at the incredible work being done to support neighbors experiencing chronic homelessness in our community was truly moving.

A huge thank you to Board President Mark Wittig, Volunteer Coordinator Ty Duenas and MLP graduate Anna Downey (Class XX) for the warm welcome and tour. Your passion for bringing dignity, stability, and hope to every resident is an inspiration.

At MLP, we love connecting with organizations making a difference and are so grateful for the chance to see this beautiful mission in action!

What a wonderful evening celebrating hope, healing, and impact at the Medical Miracles Gala last weekend!

A special thank you to Peg Kern, Class XXI, for inviting our Executive Director, Courtney Laverty, to sit at her table. Peg serves on the boards of both MLP and the University Health Foundation

One of the best parts of the night was reconnecting with MLP graduates along the way. No matter where we go in the community, it’s always inspiring to see MLP leaders showing up, giving back, and making a difference across San Antonio.

MLP is proud to celebrate Anna Downey (Class XX), co-founder of The Digital Influx Foundation, and the inaugural cohort showcase she helped bring to life.

MLP Executive Director Courtney Laverty was honored to serve as a judge for this inspiring showcase, which brought together adults with lived experience and community leaders to research issues impacting our community, including literacy, substance abuse recovery, and youth mental health, while highlighting the work of Robyn’s Nest, Rise Recovery, and Roy Maas Youth Alternatives.

Congratulations to Anna and this inaugural cohort for creating space where lived experience, leadership, and community impact come together in meaningful ways.

Courtney recently had the chance to catch up with fellow Class XXII graduate Susie Walker-Atchison. Both have had long careers as fundraisers and we're thrilled to benefit from Susie's expertise on our newly launched Development Committee.

One of the best parts of the Masters Leadership Program is that the learning (and the relationships) don’t stop after graduation. Grateful for moments like these that keep us connected, inspired, and moving forward together.
