First I want to say I’m happy that you parents are looking after the welfare of your children, secondly I’m sad that you are not letting your children finish the season.
Now bare with me as I try to explain a few things. The game yesterday when one or two people got the crowd upset by saying, did you see how that team is playing, they are hurting our boys, was just getting you upset. I am not saying that it did or did not happen, but I will tell you this, all the screaming and yelling is not going to have any affect on the reffs if they didn’t see it, they will not throw a flag, the coach can complain as he did, but the reffs are only going to call what they see. We played a Division 1 team, which was bigger than we were and very aggressive. The 8U & 12 U played the same organization and we also got our butts kicked. I have always told my players protect yourself at all times wheater you’re on your feet or on the ground, but never let your guard down. We had boys get hurt in both games, but the hits were legal. Believe me if I had seen anything illegal that the reffs weren’t calling I would have been in their face.
We as an organization in the 10U crowd made a very bad showing of ourselves. We can’t call the game from the sidelines or blame the coaches, these coaches have been with your children for over 3 months trying to teach them football and all of a sudden he is s**t because the reffs didn’t call what YOU thought they should have, that’s wrong.
We are having a bad season this year, remember this is our first year in a no weight league and the teams are going to be bigger and are used to playing in a no weight league.
Like I said at the beginning I’m glad u take interest in your child, but there are somethings we cannot control. In a game, be it baseball, football, soccer or any sport that has a reff, umpire or anyone that controls the game you have to go by their calls; good or bad.
I don’t want to lose any of our kids. Let’s put this behind us and get those kids to practice.
