Operation Comfort was founded in 2004 by Janis Roznowski, an American Airlines flight attendant, who at the time was flying troops in and out of the Middle East. Janis began visiting wounded Service Members in the hospital in Landstuhl, Germany and then later at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) in San Antonio, TX.
Operation Comfort first started remodeling the orthopedic and burn waiting rooms at BAMC. Soon after, we expanded to offering adaptive sports, with our first program being adaptive cycling in 2005. We since have offered a variety of adaptive sport programs throughout the years to best fit the needs of the wounded, ill, and injured Service Members and Veterans. Our current ongoing programs include: adaptive cycling, sled hockey, Automotivation/Woodworking, and yoga.
