Meet the "teen-ager" who is chatting with your child. Entirely online friendships are extremely dangerous for youth. Predators frequently use a profile pic which portrays themselves as a teen-ager. They are skilled at quickly bonding with a target by having similar interests. It is so easy because social media like FB provides them with a complete list of your LIKES, ie. your favorite bands, books, movies, and tv shows. Youth have no idea how their online profile provides a predator a roadmap be becoming their "bestie."

The suspect has been identified as 32-year-old Rene Gabriel Lamadrid. He was arrested at his parents' home in Colton.

There was a time when parents worried their child might go into the wrong home, or walk down the wrong alley on the wrong side of town. Today, children are more likely to meet their predator while online and at home.

There are more than 28 reasons. It is currently estimated there are a half a million predators online in the U.S. alone. They are very good a lying and luring children in any location in the world. Without you knowing they can promise unbelievable money for a modeling gig or some other "incredible offer", and send your child a plane ticket.

Today it was my privilege to facilitate a training and information exchange with another Latin American delegation with representation from Argentina, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Panama, Peru, and Uruguay. Delegates included Asst Attorney General, Prosecutors, Investigators, high-level Public Ministry officials. Because today's agenda included discussion of cases we had representation from Centro Seguro (an Agency in San Antonio doing amazing work with victims), San Antonio PD, FBI and US Marshals. We also had an editor, journalist, and representation from a television network in South America. Also in attendance were 3 individuals with the U.S. Department of State. Because sensitivities and concerns for security, photos were edited, and some in attendance are not included in photos.

Our agency, Think Freedom Campaign is working to build consensus with communities and nations around the world on the need to combat trafficking by putting as much energy in front of traffickers as they do working behind them. This means educating parents and empowering children. When people ask what we do our story is simple. "We Teach Children 3 Ft Tall The Power They Have over Predators 6 Ft Tall."

Special Thanks to Chuck Paul with Centro Seguro. Chuck is doing God's work with identified victims of trafficking. He brings a wealth of knowledge meetings like this.

Today I am looking forward to facilitating a meeting of international delegates from Argentina, Aruba, Columbia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Panama, and Peru. Delegates include special investigators, director against organized crime, criminal analysts, special prosecutor, attorney and a director with Ministry of Interior. We will be sharing information with each other regarding strategies for combating and preventing human trafficking.

This meeting today is part of an ongoing series sponsored by the department of state to provide an understanding of the American criminal justice system legal framework with nations around the world facing similar criminal issues. Also to explore initiatives which seek to identify and address root causes of crime, poverty, and educational opportunities. We have participated in this program for nearly 4 years and have met with and trained delegates from nearly 100 nations around the world.

These meetings have provided great insight into understanding human trafficking not just as a criminal justice issue, but also as a public health and human rights issue. It has helped validate much of our understanding of the issue in the U.S. Human Trafficking is an issue which while mostly viewed through a local lens, has influences which are regional, national and global.

I am so honored the work I do puts me face to face with some of the most incredible people from all over the globe. So far over 90 nations from every continent except Antartica. Today we meet with dignitaries from Indonesia to provide training and have an information exchange on preventing and combating human trafficking. There are extraordinary people in every part of the world. There are people in every nation who stay up at night trying to find more and better ways to keep vulnerable children out of the hands at predators. Our delegation from Indonesia was so kind and considerate and passionate about this cause. In the photo besides me are 2 representatives with US State Department, 5 dignitaries from Indonesia and 3 representatives with San Antonio Metro Health. Seeds are planted for more collaboration.
