Today’s HS meet in Sabinal. They worked in small groups to come up with a unique way to talk, march, and hop.

When I said double up they would double their group size.

This activity was to show teamwork and respecting others ideas.

November is the season of thanks! With your Little, create a list of all the things you are each thankful for- from people in your life, to experiences, to eating your favorite foods. This is a great practice in mindful thinking and sharing gratitude with those around you!

Reason #47 to be a mentor with BBBS:

Groundbreaking research from a longitudinal economic study titled, "The Long-Term Impacts of Mentors: Evidence from Experimental and Administrative Data" confirms that mentoring delivers real, measurable economic outcomes. Mentoring helps close 2/3 of the economic gap by increasing the rate of college enrollment and seeing Alumni earn more in their careers.

Some more moments from our trip to Arlington for the Strong Youth Strong Communities event! One parent who attended shared the following message:

"Both my daughter and I are incredibly grateful for BBBS' assistance in making this trip happen because it meant so much to us. Not only did it give us the chance to spend some valuable time together, but it also gave us a meaningful space to talk about my daughter’s future as we drove past multiple colleges and what opportunities she will have as she enters her senior year next fall."

Thank you to Centene Corporation and the other community partners who helped make this trip and event possible for our Bigs, Littles, and families!

Big Brothers Big Sisters joined with the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Centene Corporation, and other community partners for the Strong Youth Strong Communities (SYSC) program at AT&T Stadium. SYSC is a nationwide initiative focusing on serving young people by bringing inspiration to them and equipping them with the tools to navigate the challenges that can impact their mental health and emotional well-being.

On this roadtrip to Arlington, Little Brother Saint experienced many firsts: a trip to Buc-ee's, an omelette, a crepe, meeting Hall of Fame players, and visiting AT&T stadium. We are so excited that this was an adventure full of learning, growth, and important lessons surrounding self-development.

The 46th reason you should be a mentor with BBBS is that positive adult role models help build important values such as integrity. When young people have strong morals and the strong self image to set healthy boundaries, they make safe and successful decisions to support the future they want.
