Today would have marked the 30th anniversary of the march which evolved into a beautiful tradition for our city. Every year, from the historic Guadalupe Theater, thousands who joined in solidarity was a collective of voices from all walks of life to lend their voices to issues most important to our San Antonio community.

In time, we as a community will heal. In the meantime, remember Farm Workers and remain civically engaged by:

✅ Supporting others who face food insecurity by volunteering and donating when you can.

✅ Getting registered to VOTE and volunteer to help others get registered by getting deputized.

✅ Providing support to Scholarship & Education programs.

✅ Support Health & Wellness Disparity Programs

✅ Supporting cultural art and music programs for youth.

✅ Support programs aimed to support those who have been impacted by mental, physical, or sexual abuse.

THANK YOU ! MIL GRACIAS ! …..to all of you who marched, donated, and volunteered their time for over the last 30 years.

The work must continue.

Adelante !

For more than 30 years, our organization has been sustained by the trust and support of our community. From the beginning, La Causa has stood for something greater than any one individual—it has called on all of us to act with dignity, respect, and responsibility toward one another. Over time, our work grew beyond preserving a legacy to becoming a unifying force through our annual march, support for families facing food insecurity, and educational opportunities for students who might otherwise have been overlooked.

We are deeply saddened and troubled by the recent information and statements brought forward by the Cesar Chavez Foundation, the United Farm Workers, Dolores Huerta, and others that Cesar Chavez hurt - - information the Board of Directors is just now learning along with the rest of our community. These reports describe conduct that is profoundly disturbing, indefensible, and that has caused real pain. We acknowledge that pain and stand with the Huerta, Rojas, and Murguia families and all survivors.

After careful deliberation, our Board of Directors has made the decision to dissolve the Cesar E. Chavez Legacy & Educational Foundation. This decision reflects our obligation to uphold the values that have guided our work and to ensure we do not contribute to further harming or diminishing the experiences of those who have come forward. We are profoundly grateful to our volunteers, partners, and supporters, and we take solace in knowing that the spirit of La Causa—service, unity, and care for one another—belongs to the community and that it will will endure.
Si se puede.

On Sunday, January 18th our community gathered in unity for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Wreath Laying Ceremony, a powerful reminder that Dr. King’s spirit is alive and enduring in San Antonio.

Our chairman of the Cesar E. Chavez Legacy & Educational Foundation, Ernest Martinez shared that this tradition reflects generations of leadership and sacrifice, from the late Jaime P. Martinez to the organizers, elders, and young people who continue to show up for justice.

In times of division, we are called to choose faith over fear, peace over violence, and unity over despair.

The dream of Dr. King remains our dream. We march with our heads held high, knowing the struggle continues, but so does our collective power when we stand together.

Let freedom reign. ¡Si se puede!✊🏽🕊️

The MLK March in San Antonio is more than a tradition; it’s a reminder of what’s possible when communities unite for justice.

For generations, leaders like Dr. King and Cesar E. Chavez worked across cultures and causes to build solidarity and collective power. This march continues that shared legacy as we walk together toward a more just future. 💛✊🏽
