I had a truly proud moment today watching our Westside Engagement Youth Leaders. Their dedication has been incredible. They show up consistently on Saturdays and on any other day that I ask them to meet. Their commitment, focus, and willingness to grow as leaders are something special to witness.
Today was our second to last meeting as we continue rehearsing their presentation in preparation for meeting with their District City Councilwoman. These young leaders have created a 19 slide presentation, and I am proud to say that 98 percent of the content came directly from them. Their ideas, their experiences, and their voices shaped every part of it. This was truly their vision and their purpose. What they are presenting comes straight from their hearts.
My role has simply been to guide, encourage, and help create the space for their voices to grow stronger.
Watching them rehearse their slides, encourage one another, and speak with confidence reminds me that leadership is already growing right here on the Westside.
I also want to express my sincere appreciation to Pastor Vincent Robinson and his beautiful wife, Maria Robinson. The love they have shown P.A.M. Media Outreach and the youth in this community is truly a blessing. By opening the doors of Harper’s Chapel and allowing us to continue sowing into the community we strive and are happy to pour into, they are helping build something powerful for the next generation.
They have some big initiatives ahead of them, and I am grateful that they trust P.A.M. Media Outreach to help guide them to the next level of their personal leadership mission.
Remember their names: Leo, Adrian, Angie, and Aurelio from the P.A.M. Media Outreach "Outside of the School Walls" Westside Engagement Youth Leaders.
Look out, San Antonio. The voices of the Westside's youth are rising.
