There seems to be a misconception that the Greater San Antonio Film Council is owned or controlled by SAF Studios, Inc. This is not correct. The Greater San Antonio Film Council was established in March 2005 by several past members of the Convention & Visitors Bureau, Film Division Committee and genres donations by Holt Cat, the San Antonio Spurs and Enterprise Rent-A-Car. In 2006 SAF Studios made a donation and begin to spread the word about San Antonio and its film community to SAF Studios world wide connections. This has provided several good pay jobs for the San Antonio film community. SAF Studios Inc. strives to hire SAFC members for its own productions and those that produce projects at the studio. They do give finical brakes to SAFC members on rental fees and when possible out of town production companies that use SAFC members on the 536 acre back-lot or buildings.
