A message from our Chapter Chairman.

Fellow Troopers and avid supporters,

Hope all is well and wish to see you in a week and a half at our next meeting. This meeting will be a Zoom one again. The link and final reminder will be provided in a separate email correspondence this weekend or early next week.

The chapter is focused on community engagement and being event oriented. COVID-19 impacted that without a doubt but this year is projected to be more promising and provide more opportunities for the chapter. Figuratively speaking rather than being grounded, the chapter has been wheels-up and simply race tracking around the drop zone. Despite the pandemic we are still hooked-up flying low and ready to go! As soon as we get the green light we will be jumping into community and chapter events. We always welcome any available participation to facilitate with committee objectives. As always there will be great topics of discussion and excellent camaraderie at our meetings.

We will be conducting our first monthly meeting of the year this saturday 13 Feb at 10:00am CST via Zoom. We'd love to see ya! Please use the link below if you're able to attend.

The meeting is aimed to be an hour long but as this is the first meeting of the year it may run a little over on time. If you have to leave during the meeting feel free to do so without hesitation. No need to mention it during the meeting.

Additionally, please have any challenge coin ready to be shown at the beginning of the meeting...preferably an Airborne type. $1 fee if caught without. If you don't have a coin that's perfectly ok, we take IOUs. Just kidding.

Fellow troopers, family, friends, supporters,

First and foremost, Happy New Year and what an honor it is to be selected and serve as your chairman for 2021! Thank you for entrusting me with taking the reins of an elite organization with such rich lineage and history. Let this year be a blessed one with solid resiliency amid this health crisis. We currently have some chapter members with COVID and though they requested to remain anonymous, let us pray for them and may the Airborne Gods grant them a safe and quick recovery.

Due to COVID there will not be any in-person meetings until further notice. We will continue to monitor the situation and when it is responsible to reconvene our gatherings we will do so. There will be no general meeting this month of January and the next meeting will be conducted February 13th via Zoom. An email will be sent out about a week prior to the meeting with time and details.

Additional Chapter Polo shirts have been produced with various colors and are available for anyone interested in purchasing. $20 for dryfit, $17 for cotton material.

A little about me for those who I have yet had the privilege of meeting. I'm a proud second-generation paratrooper who had the privilege to command a paratrooper company and serve as a Jumpmaster in the premiere Airborne force of the world....The 82nd Airborne Division. I could not ask for anything more rewarding in life! I've been heavily inspired by my father Rafael Dominguez also a paratrooper and a Korea and Vietnam War veteran who adopted me at birth. My Godfather “Ranger” Duke Armendariz Nat’l President of the 82ND ABN DIV Assoc. 2002-03 has also influenced me and without a doubt all the highly-distinguished veterans I've had the honor of personally knowing since age 5 from the Benavidez-Patterson Chapter of the 82D ABN DIV ASSOC. I will forever be influenced by their direct and meaningful sacrifices to this country. Growing up attending Airborne meetings and events to include my own Airborne experience serves as the impetus for my membership and mission. My mission is to adulate and reaffirm the cohesive fraternity of paratroopers and their family from every generation.

Greetings Paratroopers near and far. It is with sadness that I post this passing of fellow Paratrooper Robert “Bob” PRATT, who passed on November 24th, 2020. His wonderful wife, Arunee PRATT, has passed this information to us for Paratrooper PRATT’s memorial service.

Service is set for December 17th, 2020 (Thursday) at 12:30 PM DFW Cemetery. If you plan on attending, you must show up at 12 PM and wear a mask.

Most of his family that was going to attend were from out of state, but do to COVID, they are unable attend. Paratrooper PRATT was active in the North Texas Chapter and though I never got to meet him, his passing has been difficult on those who knew him. His wife reached out to the Chapter in hopes of us sending him off in the true sense of the 82nd Airborne Division. If you can please attend. The service will be short and simple and done by 1 PM.
