Dear Colonial Hills Families,
It is with a full heart that I introduce myself as the new principal of Colonial Hills Elementary School. My name is Alma Neira, and I am truly honored to become part of this incredible community.
I know that schools are much more than buildings—they're places where children grow, families connect, and lifelong memories are made. I also understand that change can bring excitement, uncertainty, and a lot of questions. My hope is to earn your trust - one conversation, one relationship, and one school day at a time.
As I begin this journey, my first priority is simple: to listen and learn. I want to get to know our students, hear from our families, celebrate the traditions that make Colonial Hills special, and learn how we can continue building on the strong foundation that's already here.
Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of serving schools in many different seasons—from a National Blue Ribbon, Title 1 campus to opening a brand-new school and helping lead a campus through meaningful growth. Most recently, I worked at James Masters Elementary as a principal. Each experience has reinforced what I believe most: when schools and families work together, children thrive.
At my core, I believe every child deserves to feel seen, valued, challenged, and loved. My commitment is to be visible, approachable, and present. I want our school to be a place where families feel welcomed, heard, and proud to call home.
I look forward to meeting each of you in the weeks ahead, whether it's during arrival, at school events, or simply in the hallway as you volunteer at our campus, or come have lunch with your child. Together, we'll continue creating a school where every child feels supported, inspired, and excited to learn.
