TEXSAR was honored to have members from the Scott A. Freund Memorial Foundation, join us at the Annual Volunteer Appreciation Weekend. Matt and Jessica shared the mission behind the foundation and the reasons why they support organizations like TEXSAR.

The Scott A. Freund Foundation has funded some of TEXSAR's critical assets over the years, providing our team with almost $50,000 in donated funds.

This year, they presented us with a check for $21,000 to help fund two new rescue boats and swiftwater training opportunities for our team members.

We're humbled to be part of Scott's legacy and grateful for the continued support so that we may continue helping our fellow Texans.

The best boating experience is a safe boating. The Fourth of July is one of the busiest weekends for boating. Do your part and be responsible on the water.

Remember to:

1. Always wear your life jacket - regardless of your age or swimming ability.

2. Stay hydrated - but not with alcoholic beverages. Never boat under the influence.

3. Be aware. Waterways will be crowded.

4. Leave fireworks to local community displays. Never do fireworks from your boat.
