Bambi Update:✨🦌🌲🌸
Adoptable Bambi, is enjoying her days, with her FULLY HEALED left eye. As many of you know, Bambi had a complicated eye ulcer due to a piece of hay scratching her eyeball. Her recovery process was over a month, with constant eye medications, cleaning, oral meds, and of course lots of love. She had follow up visits at the vet every 10 days, to ensure her eye-ulcer was healing properly. In addition to all of this stress on Bambi, through it all her foster has been a superhero during this time, ensuring Bambi was receiving the best care!

Currently Bambi has a scar that is still healing, but is not affecting her vision-per our vet. We’re absolutely thrilled that she’s overcame this, and despite it all-she has been such a trooper. She often gives her foster kisses, loves to play & binky, and is very curious. We know she’s grateful for all the care and love that’s been poured into her. She is looking for her forever home, to share all of the love she has to give. She’s a fighter, and we love her so much.

Let’s talk about a few of our other adoptables buns, full of personality, sass, and lots of love. Liberty, Tofu & Miso, and Bambi are all looking for their forever home. When you choose to adopt, you’re supporting rabbit rescue & rabbit welfare. All of our buns are spayed/neutered, fully vetted, vaccinated against RHDV2, litter trained, and socialized. Adopting helps make room for more Rabbits who are in need of rescue. ADOPT DON’T SHOP! 🐇

1) Liberty-She’s a young gal, full of s***k & life. She can’t stay still, and will constantly zoom + binky around. She LOVES love, and will melt in your hand for head-pets. She’s an easy going gal, who needs lots of room for play + LOTS of attention. She’s a survivor, who was abandoned by her previous family and left for dead. Even though they choose to move on and abandon her, she never closed off her heart to love. 🗽

2) Tofu (left) & Miso (right)-Tofu & Miso are a bonded pair of brothers, who never fail to keep us entertained! Tofu brings the chaos to the relationship, while Miso is the “calm in the storm”. They love each other greatly, and will groom one another + spend their days cuddling. These boys love affection, and enjoy spending time with their humans. Tofu keeps us on our toes & Miso brings the sweetness. You may get lucky, and get a few kisses from them as well! These boys have been rehomed 3 times, so they’re hoping they find a forever home soon. ❤️🍜

3)Bambi-This girl is a fighter, and has been through so much. She was found outside injured, and taken in by WRR. We were able to take her in from WRR, and she lacked socialization + was very fearful of humans. She went from spicy to sweet, thanks to her amazing foster! Once she felt safe, we saw a new side to her. She was playful, affectionate, and constantly seeming out her humans!! She enjoys head-pets, playing with her toys, and taking it easy. She recently had a severe eye ulcer, which she has finally recovered from. These past few months have not been easy on her, but through it all she chooses to love. She will share a few kisses with you as well! 🦌

1. 🦌 Rudolph also known as Rudy, he’s got a big personality and now has big hair! He’s a sweet boy who is very food motivated, and is an absolute joy to be around. He makes us laugh, every time guaranteed. He has been with us since December-waiting HALF A YEAR in foster care. We hope that his forever family comes soon. He’s been more than patient. He’s been overlooked because of his red (ruby) eyes, but anyone that shallow isn’t a good fit anyways! He is so much more than his appearance (which we think is THE CUTEST by the way). ❤️

2. 🧸 Teddy, one of the adult males from the La Vernia rabbit rescue case-who is nothing but a sweet heart! He is Brandy’s brother. He happily waits for his humans, patiently waiting on his pellets & greens. He eats nearly as much hay as a horse, and is nearly 8 lbs! He’s very loving, and is very much giving “country-boy” energy. He has a past, but chooses to love regardless. He is such an easy going and kind hearted baby.

3. 🥃 Brandy, is a survivor-also from the La Vernia rescue case. He is the father of “planet babies”. He has been through a lot, almost being killed previously from a feral dog before rescue. He had extreme anxiety when we took him in, he was very closed off. But after lots of patience, consistency, and showing up for Brandy-we’ve earned his trust. He’s been curious everyday, standing up on his hind feet for head-rubs. He LOVES his greens & breakfast time! He enjoys the retired life, splooting and chillaxing. He is genuinely just an easy-going guy, enjoying the good life (indoors, air conditioned, and with his amazing human-butler (foster)).

THANK YOU for all of your contributions to our wishlist, it’s greatly appreciated. We will be distributing these to our fosters this week. Our wishlist is still live, with a few more items on there. And we will be adding more toys as the buns go through them. Thank you for adding enrichment & joy in these rescue rabbit’s lives. Some of these buns are here for a few months, while some are here upwards to half a year or more. We’d like to make their time with us special and full of joy. New Intake: Dumpling ✨🥟
🚨TRIGGER WARNING: blood & soiled bunny-butt

We are so glad that Dumpling has safety landed with us at Happy Hops. Unfortunately, during intake we saw a lot of heartbreaking signs of neglect with Dumpling. He is 5-6 years old, and we’re not sure how long he’s lived this way. Whether the neglect was intentional or not, it is still sad to see. He will be seen at the vet this Friday, for his wellness exam. He is on a road to recovery for sure.

Not only is he morbidly obese, but he has stopped grooming himself. His bottom was matted with p**p, and smelled absolutely rancid. His nails were overgrown, to the point that his dewclaw got twisted from the base of his nail (and started bleeding). It was horrific.

He was able to get a good brushing yesterday, butt-bath/matt removal, a nail trim, and his wound was cleaned up. Dumpling has a long road ahead of him to recovery, and we will be here every step of the way. He is with our Director, so she can keep a close eye on him-and facilitate his weight loss journey. Bambi Eye-Update! 👁️✨🤎
Today Bambi had her second to last check-up, for her eye ulcer. Dr. Eisenmann is happy to report that her eye ulcer is healing nicely. It’s reducing significantly in size. She will be seen again in two weeks, for her final follow-up appointment. We are continuing with her antibiotic eyedrops + ointment, and she is now off of her Metacam/Oral Antibiotics. Please consider donating if you can, as this has been a huge expense to our veterinary fund. Nearly $500-$600 for her medications, eye exams + eye-stains, once she has her last appointment. We are always asked “what do I need to do, in order to be able to foster?” We need fosters to provide the adequate space for the bun, proper care, and lots of socialization + love.

One of the many benefits of fostering, is saving a life! You are a KEY part of ensuring that a rabbit-in-need is able to find their forever home. As a foster-ran rescue, we truly cannot do this without you! We are always in need of more fosters, in order to make room for more rabbits.

We would love to discuss our fostering program with you. It is a 3-month minimum commitment, unless you are a temporary foster!
