Little Scratchy (bottom right) had a baby and we didn’t even know til today!!! She’s been hiding it in a fleece pouch but it got big enough to come out on her back outside her tummy pouch today and now likes the hammock!!!

Good morning from our new sugar gliders!

Sugar gliders are part of the opossum family and therefore are marsupials. They are primarily nocturnal but we got little boy to come out this morning for a sweet nectar treat!

Sugar gliders really should stay in the wild, and often their captive breeding circumstances aren’t too great. They need LOTS of space to fly between trees and search for insects, fruits and veggies and occasionally a little meat. They are omnivores and need a well-balanced diet of protein, veggies and sweets. Today’s nectar treat is a special treat that doesn’t happen but once every week or two because just like me, they choose sugar first over veggies!
