“Tell me and I forget, show me and I remember, involve me and I understand” - Texas Brigades Motto.

This week our cadets had plenty of opportunities to MAKE A HAND, and they sure rose to the occasion.

We had a “low stress cattle handling” demonstration, learned vaccine and implant safety, then got to put it into practice by processing a set of calves. They even got to help in the fabrication of a steer carcass and learn the different cuts of beef.

Every cadet jumped in to try something new!

That’s a wrap!! The 5th Battalion of South Texas Ranch Brigade was a GREAT success. We were blown away by the quality of young cadets that spent the week with us. We learned, worked, played, and met challenges HEAD ON.

This is the next generation of land stewards.

South Texas had on its Sunday best!! Thank you Lord for the rain. Thank you Duval County Ranch for the hospitality.
More pics to come!
