OHP's AMAZING RACE
Join the Office of Historic Preservation to discover, explore, and investigate the hidden treasures and historic architecture of Hemisfair!

The Amazing Preservation Race for Kids is an architectural scavenger hunt designed for pre-k and elementary school-aged kids (3 to 12). Registration ($5/child) includes race entry, event buff, and finisher's medal. Every participant will be entered for a chance to win a door prize. Must be present to win. Happy Juneteenth!

Did you know Texas was the first state to officially recognize Juneteenth as a state holiday in 1979? Now recognized as a city, state, and federal holiday, we encourage everyone to take time to learn, celebrate, and support the many Juneteenth events taking place throughout San Antonio, including the Comanche Park Festival.

Today, we honor freedom, resilience, and the rich history and contributions of African Americans in our community and across our nation. Juneteenth is a time for reflection, celebration, and education as we recognize a pivotal moment in American history.
