SALSA's Veterans Program connects local attorneys with veterans and their families who could not otherwise afford legal help. Whatever your bandwidth, there's a fit:

→ A few hours: Veterans Legal Advice Clinic — walk-in advice on discharge upgrades, expunctions, VA disability appeals, and civil matters. 2nd & 4th Fridays, 1–4 PM, at American GI Forum NVOP and rotating locations. No prep required.

→ A full case: Extended Representation — one pre-vetted civil case, matched to your practice area, with SALSA staff support throughout.

New to this area of law? That's exactly what our mentor attorneys are for. Training is provided, malpractice coverage is included, and every hour counts toward the State Bar's recommended 50 pro bono hours per year. You bring the license; we bring the support.

On Friday, July 31 (1:00–4:00 pm), SALSA is hosting a free legal advice clinic for local veterans at the Veterans Outreach & Transition Center, and we're looking for volunteer attorneys to give a few hours of their time.

No veterans law experience required. This is a meaningful way to serve those who served, build community, and put your license to work for good.

On Monday night, 14 San Antonio families walked out with a will.

Volunteer attorneys, notaries, and law students spent the evening preparing wills and ancillary documents for families who would otherwise go without. Estate planning is personal — it means deciding what happens to a home, who cares for a child, what a family is left holding. Every client got unhurried attention.

Thank you to the volunteers from Valero and Norton Rose Fulbright, and to Norton Rose Fulbright for sponsoring the food that nourished us while we served our neighbors. Thank you to the San Antonio Paralegal Association, whose notaries made every one of these documents executable.

And to the solo and small-firm attorneys who volunteered their evening — thank you.

Thank you San Antonio Paralegal Association for the shoutout and for sharing! 💙 We're so grateful to SAPA President Monica Harris for giving her time at our Veterans Clinic — volunteers like her make it possible for us to serve the veterans in our community who need legal help.

We're proud to partner with SAPA, and there are plenty of ways to join in. Our Wills Clinic is coming up July 20th at St. Mary's, and notaries and translators are still needed. Reach out to [email protected] if you'd like to lend a hand.

Our very own Monica Harris(SAPA president) volunteered today with the San Antonio Legal Services Association (SALSA), Veterans Clinic which provides legal assistance to veterans facing legal challenges.

SALSA is not only our preferred charity for fundraising this year but also offers various volunteering opportunities.
