🎓🥳 An exciting update from CHORD Teacher Training!

This June, 19 students from across the Nordic region and beyond graduated from CHORD’s Teachers Training Program in Helsinki, Finland! 🌏

Over two years, these 10 women and 9 men participated in bi-weekly Zoom gatherings, four in-person workshops, and hands-on teaching projects, all designed to equip disciples with the gift of teaching to serve and strengthen their local churches.

We’re incredibly grateful for Dr. Steve Kinnard, Bobby Ritter, Valdur Koha, and the regional leaders who invested in developing and encouraging this group of teachers. Congratulations to our graduates from Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Latvia, and Italy! 🎉

📣 We are excited to announce that CHORD Leadership Center is offering a Two-Year Cohort in Spiritual Leadership Formation!

The two-year journey designed for experienced ministry leaders who desire deeper spiritual formation, theological reflection, authentic community, and renewed capacity for faithful leadership.

At CHORD, we believe that changed leaders change cultures. Leadership isn’t simply about what we do, it’s about who we are becoming.

If you’ve ever found yourself asking…

• How do I keep growing after years of ministry?
• How do I deepen my own walk with God?
• How do I lead from a healthier, more grounded place?
• What is God doing in me during this season?
..this journey may be for you.

Applications for our inaugural cohort open August 10 and close December 15, 2026.

Visit the link in our bio to learn more, join an upcoming Open House, or sign up for our Program Interest List.

CHORD Connect Class registration is now open! 🥳

This semester in CHORD Connect, students will explore Inspirational Leadership: The Journey to Christocentric Leadership. Together, they will consider what it means to lead from a life deeply centered on Jesus- not simply through influence, skill, or position, but through spiritual formation, humility, and faithful service. Through Scripture, reflection, and practical discussion, students will examine how Christ shapes the heart, character, and calling of a leader. Our hope is that they will grow not only in their understanding of leadership, but in their capacity to lead others with the compassion, courage, and conviction of Christ.

Students and alumni from CHORD Schools of Mission are all welcome to register. Your school's director will be sending you the registration link directly.

A chord is made up of different notes. Each note matters. Together, they create harmony. That's the vision behind CHORD.

In 2024, the Beam Mission Foundation and the Disciples Center for Education came together around a shared conviction: churches needs leadership cultures that are rooted in spirituality, shaped by giftedness, and strengthened through collaboration. For years, both organizations invested in developing leaders and supporting churches around the world. As our visions aligned, we recognized an opportunity to combine our resources, experience, and networks to serve that mission more effectively together.

Today, CHORD exists to help cultivate healthy biblical leadership cultures where spiritual gifts are discovered, developed, and practiced in community. We believe teachers, evangelists, shepherds, and other gifted leaders are not meant to work in isolation, but in harmony—equipping churches to thrive today and preparing the next generation of leaders for tomorrow.

Just as individual notes create a chord, diverse gifts working together create something greater than any one voice alone.

ESOM Monastery Weekend — step away from the noise, step into silence. 🌿

Each School of Mission has its own curriculum and rhythms while sharing the same core foundations. This past year, the European School of Mission introduced a new part of its curriculum: a three-day monastery retreat in Germany focused on the practice of silence and solitude.

Led by ESOM Director Micha Brück and ESOM Teacher Carlos Santos Aguirre, students stepped away from phones, distractions, and everyday noise to spend intentional time in nature, connect with God, and learn to listen to Him in the silence.

What began as a simple retreat became a deeply transformative experience of rest, reflection, community, and encounter with God.

Swipe through to read more about the experience and see moments from the weekend shared together by ESOM students and staff. 🤍

Meet Megan, a student at the New England School of Mission 🇺🇸 Originally from Long Island, New York, she is currently working full-time in ministry in Boston.

Megan deeply loves God and carries a contagious enthusiasm that makes people instantly feel welcomed! She is passionate about living radically for Christ and dreams of serving on the mission field one day!

Megan is adventurous, fun, and always ready for the next challenge — whether that’s serving wholeheartedly, rock climbing, or finding the best burger spot in town 😋 There are also reports that she sleeps with her eyes slightly open. We’re not saying it’s concerning, but we are saying it explains how she’s somehow always ready and alert  🌚🌝

Megan also joined the CHORD Connect Class this semester. Swipe to see the unexpected moment she met her CHORD Connect discussion group facilitator from DAKUSOM (the School of Mission in Kenya), in person at last month’s Church Builders Conference! 🇰🇪🇺🇸

Megan, thank you for your energy, your faithfulness, and your wholehearted love for Jesus! ❤️
