Scouting America is testing Chipmunks, a brand new program for children ages 4 and 5 featuring playdate-style gatherings, forest animal characters and a sticker-based recognition system.

Camp Sol Mayer recently had a facelift. The mesquite infestation has been mulched, thanks to a donation by Diamond A Ranch Services and Reece Albert Trucking.

San Angelo Gives resulted in $4,553,162 by 10,427 donations. A huge THANK YOU to all donors coming out to support all 271 San Angelo not-for-profit organizations.

The Texas Southwest Council, Scouting America is extremely excited and thankful for the generous investments of exactly $73,725 by 45 donors helping us achieve the $1 for $1 match of $36,862.50.

You love and care so deeply for the Texas Southwest Council and we feel it. All gifts of $10 up to $25,000 matters and your gift helps us serve youth of the Scouting Programs in the Texas Southwest Council. These funds help keep our cost of camps affordable and helps more youth participate in Scouting in our 24-county area. You also helped us earn $825 in prizes throughout the day totaling……… Drum roll please……….

In addition, we will receive amplification funds that are not yet determined but estimated bringing our total to over $78,000.

Solomon "Sol" Mayer was born on January 18, 1869, in San Antonio, Texas, to German immigrant parents, later becoming a prominent rancher and philanthropist in the San Angelo area, known for his contributions to Scouting and local development.

Birth: January 18, 1869, in San Antonio.
Family: Son of Ferdinand and Jette Mayer, he grew up in West Texas, working at his father's trading posts near Fort McKavett and Fort Concho (now San Angelo).
Legacy: He helped build a significant family legacy in ranching and made substantial land donations, including for Camp Sol Mayer for Texas Southwest Council, Scouting America, solidifying his ties to the San Angelo community.
