I turn 40 yrs old today and to me it's just another day. Though, with the past life I lived, I never thought I'd make it this far. Yet, God's sense of humor has me in the position of a Husband , Father of five, Pastor, and small business owner, etc. I'm not really much of a sentimental guy. But, I woke up this morning to a few happy birthdays and am grateful for that. Yet, I struggle. Because the happy birthday that usually comes after midnight from my earthly father didn't come. This is my first birthday without him and his unwavering cheerfulness. But, I know I have a heavenly father who loves me and will allow me to be joined once again to my earthly parents one day.
Love you more mom and dad.

Now, I could complain about how the dishes aren't done, laundry is still piled up, and my house just isn't spotless. Yet, the kids think we still need to do something special for Dad's birthday (except clean house). And all dad really gets for his birthday is, (the bill). Lol. I even preached about it once... But, as my father in-law says, (your house is not a museum, it's lived in). Lol. He's right, but don't tell him that...
It reminds me of how God doesn't require us to be spotless, perfect, or blemishless. Because, he knows that we are incapable of that. Yet, made a provision for us through his son Jesus the Christ. He just wants to dwell within us and us within him. I am truly blessed beyond measure. To have a God fearing beautiful wife that continues to stand by me through everything we've been through, five amazing kids that are so different from one another , yet so much alike that they can't stand to admit it. I couldn't ask for more. And still, we have friends and a church family that walks with us and prays for us continually. I shouldn't ask for more.
I've wasted so much time worrying about what the world thinks or has to offer. Which is nothing. Especially compared to what God has given me and still has in store for me. Even if the physical vessel I'm in passed on today. God has an eternity in heaven for me filled with wonders ...
I've wasted so much time on tomorrow, as many of us do, when today is here and now. His word says, (let tomorrow worry about itself, for today is enough on its own). Today is the day the Lord made, we should enjoy it.
We get to choose each and every day how we respond to what comes our way, good and bad. Others see how we respond and it speaks volumes to them. So, let us live in a way that speaks truth and life into every situation and every person we come in contact with.
Thank you Lord for another day.

Looks like we have rain in the forecast again. We thank the lord for that. Unfortunately we need to postpone the car clinic until further notice. Keep a lookout for the new date.
