What does it really take to build lasting peace? 🌏

At TEDxSammamish Live, we’ll be watching a talk from Hiba Qasas — mediator and peacebuilder with decades of experience working inside conflict zones.

Her message is clear, and it challenges the usual narrative: peace takes more than empathy.

She unpacks how traditional peacebuilding efforts often focus on process, while missing what actually drives lasting change — power, incentives, and legitimacy.

Through her framework, STIR, she offers a different approach grounded in what she calls “self-interest with a spine.”

It’s a perspective that feels especially relevant right now and one we don’t hear often enough.

We’re looking forward to sitting with this one, and thinking more deeply about what it really takes to build lasting peace. 🕊️

Join us this Saturday at TEDxSammamish Live to watch a curated selection of TED Talks from the TED 2026 conference held in Vancouver, B.C.

→ Come be part of an afternoon of ideas, reflection, and real conversation.

This is one we’re really looking forward to 🌊

At TEDxSammamish Live, we’ll be watching a talk from Amy Bowers Cordalis — attorney, Yurok Tribe member, fisherwoman, and author of The Water Remembers.

Her message is simple, but powerful: humans can heal the planet.

She shares the story of the Klamath River and the long fight to remove the dams — work led by Indigenous communities protecting their land, water, and way of life.

This is a perspective we don’t hear enough: We don’t need a backup planet. We need to take better care of this one. 🌏

We’re excited to sit with this one, and to think a little more about what restoration and responsibility can look like in real life.

Join us this Saturday at TEDxSammamish Live to watch a curated selection of TED Talks from TED 2026 conference held in Vancouver, B.C.

We would love to have you be a part of this important conversation.

We’re especially excited for this one 👀

Jonathan Haidt — author of The Anxious Generation — is taking on a question that’s been quietly sitting in the background of all our lives:
What is all this tech actually doing to us… and to our kids?

We’re wired for connection, real community, shared goals. But somewhere along the way, the tools we built to bring us closer started chipping away at the very things we need to thrive.

From social media to AI, Haidt challenges us to ask harder questions:
⚡️What is this doing to how we grow up, learn, and relate to each other?
⚡️And more importantly… are we moving too fast to notice the cost?

The conversation isn’t about rejecting technology — it’s about raising the bar. Demanding safety. Protecting the environments our kids need to actually thrive.

We’ll be watching, thinking, probably side-eyeing our own screen time a little 😅

Join us this Saturday at TEDxSammamish Live to watch a curated selection of TED Talks from TED 2026 conference held in Vancouver, B.C.

We have so much to say on this topic and would love for you to be part of the conversation.

🎉We’re trying something new… and honestly, we’re pretty excited about it.

In two weeks, we’re hosting TEDxSammamish Live — a different way to experience brand-new TED 2026 talks without traveling or buying a conference badge.

It’s a small, curated mix of talks from this year’s “All of Us” conference — some you won’t find online anytime soon (if ever). We’ll watch together, then just… talk. No pressure, no overthinking. Just space to reflect, share, or listen.

Think cozy chairs, snacks, and a room full of thoughtful people figuring things out together. You can be as social (or not) as you want.

🎟️Tickets:
Event Partner $50 | General $35 | Youth $25

If you’re curious, come see what it’s like. You might walk away with a new idea — or just a really good conversation.

📢 Speaker applications are now open for TEDxSammamish Women 2026!

This year we’re exploring a powerful question:
✨What becomes possible when women truly live from their worth?✨

We’re inviting speakers with ideas that live in the beautiful, messy middle where reflection becomes action and dreams begin to take shape.

→You don’t need to be a professional speaker.
You need an idea worth spreading.
