🇵🇹 O Consulado-Geral de Portugal deseja a toda a comunidade um Santo e Feliz Natal, repleto de paz, esperança e renovação.

Neste espírito, partilhamos uma Cena da Natividade da autoria de Josefa de Óbidos, uma das mais notáveis pintoras do barroco europeu, cuja obra se distingue pela profundidade espiritual, delicadeza técnica e força expressiva — um legado maior da arte portuguesa.

Associamos também esta a mensagem o Adeste Fideles, conhecido como o “Portuguese Hymn”. Esta designação tornou-se comum no século XVIII, quando o hino era tradicionalmente executado nas celebrações de Natal da Embaixada de Portugal em Londres, ganhando ali particular projeção e reconhecimento além-fronteiras.

Que a arte, a música e a tradição nos inspirem neste Natal — e que o novo ano traga saúde, união e confiança no futuro.

🇺🇸 The Consulate General of Portugal wishes the entire community a peaceful and joyful Christmas.

On this occasion, we are pleased to share a Nativity scene painted by Josefa de Óbidos, one of the most distinguished women painters of the European Baroque. Her work stands out for its spiritual depth, technical refinement, and expressive strength, securing her a unique place in Portuguese and European art history.

We also share Adestes Fideles, internationally known as the “Portuguese Hymn.” The hymn became widely associated with Portugal in the 18th century after being regularly performed during Christmas celebrations at the Embassy of Portugal in London, from where it gained international recognition.

May art, music, and tradition inspire this Christmas season, and may the New Year bring health, unity, and renewed hope to all.

Portuguese pianist Inês Andrade in concert across California and Utah

We are delighted to present a series of three concerts by Inês Andrade, featuring works by Portuguese and European composers — a journey through shared musical traditions and contemporary interpretations.
